Plan was to head to Costa Rica, but we decided less adventure and more relaxation was desired for this trip.
A few other notes:
- Puerto Rico, USVI/BVI's are out (we've been and looking for a new location)
- Big challenge is trying to utilize both Delta Award and Marriott/SPG Points.
Right now it looks like Punta Cana, DR or Eluthera, Bahamas. Found some great prices to Turks & Caicos, but there aren't any Marriott/SPG properties there.
Thoughts on these three? Other suggestions?

Delta flies to St thomas. I checked, not sure about award thing though. From there take the ferry over to St Johns for the day. You won't regret it. much nicer than punta cana. Marriott in st thomas not great to beach access. st johns has the better beaches.

There is also a marriott in aruba. Marriotts are limited in the Caribbean. Aruba is a cool place. Really diverse geography for a small island. Big party island. Lots of bars and stuff.

Thanks...but we've already been to most of the VI's (St. John, included) and looking to go elsewhere.

If you haven't been, there is a Marriott in Grand Caymen. We stayed there a few years ago. It's on Seven Mile Beach.

We just got back from Exuma, Bahamas a few weeks ago (very similar to Eleuthera - about 100 miles south) and I would highly recommend it. The water is unbelievable, and it's not heavily developed. You get the true Caribbean experience in the outer islands. We're heading to T&C at the end of March and while it's a lot more commercialized, the water is about as good as it gets.

Yeah we're trying to find a balance between super remote with limited options for food/transport/etc. vs. over-commercialized garbage resorts.

Are you going to post a review?

Eleuthera is on my list of places to go. Looks incredible.
I'm a big fan of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos. Grace Bay is arguably the best beach in the world and the restaurants are fantastic. You can take the ferry to North Caicos and then rent a car and drive to middle Caicos for a nice day trip. Not sure about using Marriott or SPG points there. We stay at the Alexandra resort when we go.

My first thought was Aruba.
Thanks. This Renaissance that's in downtown Aruba seems promising. Has a private island for beach, but also allows for other things to do in the city center.
Are there a lot of "public" beaches you can drive to elsewhere on the island?

Yeah, I'll be happy to post a review of the Exuma trip. If I don't have the pictures tied to a URL, am I SOL for adding them to a post (sorry, not tech savvy)?

1. Simply upload all your photographs to an easy-to-use sharing website like Flickr, Imgur, Instagram. Don't use Facebook, Photobucket or Shutterfly.
2. Once you've uploaded all of the pics you plan to share here on TD, navigate to the first picture on your photo site. Right click on the picture and choose "Copy Image Address" as shown below....
3. Come back here to TD (within an active post/reply) and click on the img button over to the right and you'll then see a pop-up box that says enter a valid image URL. Right mouse click into that space and choose "Paste", and it will fill in the exact link to your photograph from your other site. Click OK. New text should be added into your post that looks somewhat like this:

NOTE: Click on the Preview button to ensure your photograph shows up properly before you submit the post.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, toggling between your photo site and the active post here until you've shared all the pics you want. Feel free to add any descriptions or things you think we'd like to know about.
5. Submit!
Thanks!

I can't even find a US-based hotel chain with a property there.

Aruba has a populated half and a deserted half.
You can find a beach (after a hike) where you will not see anyone else all day.
The locals are cool, almost all of them speak four languages: (their local dialect) Dutch, Spanish & English.
The climate, geography & flora are amazing. Very safe. Rent a car.
The ABCs & Barbados are the furthest away from Miami but all worth your visit.

Grand Caymen is our favorite spot and the best kept secret of all the main tourists spots

I'm all about Grand Cayman, wife has been before. Forgot to include that in the exclusions.
Anyone ever stayed at the Westin Sint Maarten? How's the island in general?

ST Kitts/Nevis have several Marriott chain hotels and are more calm, quiet and luxurious islands, check them out.
