Revised to say, there seems to be a lot of negative sentiment around everything AI related and I may just pull out completely at PM open. Take my $15k loss and either catch the next leg up or not. Probably the typical retail move but it comes with the aforementioned timing. Alarm set early for a morning review and action plan.
That’s what I’m thinking too - I’m afraid she might’ve wilted on the vine if she hits $110. I’ll keep a steady hand early on but might just have to pay the tax and move on. Timing is everything and I may have just entered too late. Part of the game, maybe there will be opportunities down the road for her. Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that.

And BB88 (among others), you’ve been a stalwart through this thing. We’re not throwing in the towel yet!!!
I know it’s impossible to say but do you guys see this rebounding if we hit $110 tomorrow? That would just be unbelievable this close to earnings without negative news. I’m leaning towards exiting around that level and either paying my “stupid tax” or reentering and riding the wave back up if it shows life. Thoughts?

ETA: I don’t need the money right now so even if we ride a nasty wave down and bounce back sometime in December or January, I’m willing to do it. I know the projections suggest otherwise but just want to avoid an extended long lull in the $70-90 range.
Atta baby, keep the faith!! I ended up with 1,742 shares by day’s end with a $124 DCA so I’m strapped in this thing. If she blows up, oh well. But I really think we’ll see a strong push upward at some point in the coming weeks. The chart patterns suggest that, in my view. And if we capitalize, I’ll take the opportunity to offload some profits and reposition with more calls and less capital. Here’s to better days. Cheers fellas!
What a day to jump in. Ah well, I’m still confident in brighter days ahead and hopefully ya’ll are too. Get us going at the bar, IT_Dawg. We need a little afternoon rally to calm things down.
I’ve peppered this dip like I’m getting ready to throw it on the grill. My DCA has gone down a good bit. We’ll be cheering the rally in the coming days.
Haha, yeah at this point I’m buying the dip and feel confident it’ll bounce back. Too much positive momentum long term with this horse.
Ended up with 1,012 shares of NBIS by 5am CT at a DCA just under $131 so lets ride.

Awesome news on IREN, congrats to the holders! Leggoooo.
There he is… good stuff. I jumped in with 600 shares at PM open and bought a few options. Just want to get my feet wet and see how those options act before wading deeper in the water. Instincts are everything, and I just need to spend more time watching them closer. Meanwhile, I’ll continue adding to my shares position today when more volume starts flowing and we see how the market reacts. Here’s to the slow and steady creep to $140 before the breakout next week! Cheers.
Thanks, the concept makes perfect sense. I think it’s just identifying the right dollar slot for where to buy the contract that I’m green at. As in, what made you feel confident in the $140/Feb slot? I’m sure it’ll just take time to get a feel for the stock and build instincts on how to navigate things but you guys give us new guys a great head start.

I appreciate the advice - I recently sold a little land and haven’t made a long term decision on what I want to do with the money. Hence the 3-6 month timeframe. Obviously I’ll let it ride longer if we’re still seeing the upside, but I am as bullish as you guys are in the short term. I’m not necessarily concerned with maximizing profits. I’d rather make a solid return while strengthening my understanding of the nuances of the stock. It’s incredibly helpful when you guys post what you just bought!

I think I’ll start with maybe 10-15 Jan calls and the rest in shares for now and adjust my ratio as I get more comfortable. Again, thanks!
Fellas, I’ve only been following this thread for about two weeks but have spent countless hours in that time researching NBIS as much as possible. I made a little money during the late Oct dip, but frankly I didn’t have a full comprehension of what they do, who their partners are, and what their non-core businesses are until I missed the chance to capitalize on the the $98-$102 prices.

I am now ready to put up to $150k in this stock. I am on track with my current retirement plan and am fairly young (low 40’s) so I am risk tolerant. I also have another $180k in stocks/HY savings liquid accounts. My question is, what would be your strategy for immediate entry and looking at a 3-6 month timeframe?

The $ I made late last month was through day-trading NBIS while I researched and only have 50 shares left in my stockpile. Part of me wants to just buy 1,000 shares at market open tomorrow and see what kind of run we get through earnings. I traded options years ago but it has been a while and I don’t like investing until I have a full understanding of what I’m doing. I say that to say, I’d be happy with a 25% ROI so I’m leaning towards buying the 1K shares at roughly $130 tomorrow morning and letting it ride through earnings. Then reassessing my position and possibly pulling out some profits if they’re decent. Meanwhile, I’ll be starting to sharpen my options skills. How would you play it? All shares? 80/20 shares/calls? If you’d do calls, what target price? I appreciate any and all advice. The main cast of characters have been so fun to follow, and I’m jealous I won’t have a yacht drink named by IT_Dawg but maybe an invitation one day.
Yeah, we went back to Provo this past March for the first time in 7-8 years and it has gotten much more developed than our first visit. Beautiful place but for us, Exuma was way better. Everyone has different tastes but being able to go to a different beach each day without seeing more than 5-10 people is incredible. We rented a boat one day and hit Chat N Chill and a bunch of other beaches along Stocking Island which I highly recommend.

Don't have time to write much, but I've been to most of those islands on your list and Exuma has everything you're looking for and more. It's an incredible island - Coco Plum Beach at low tide is the best I've ever been to and you won't see hardly a soul at the beaches. It's crazy. Very uncommercialized and great people. Very safe. We rented a house in February Point and it surpassed expectations.

Went to Sandals Antigua for our honeymoon in 2008 and it was fine but I wouldn’t go back. We had a suite in the Mediterranean Village which had just opened and was nice but overall the resort is nothing special. If I had to do it again, I would go to another island and probably steer clear of All Inclusive. We just rented a house in Exuma this past winter and fell in love with the island. Just know it’s not commercialized one bit which shouldn’t matter if you’re going the AI route. But the water & beaches are phenomenal (and mostly deserted – see Coco Plum Beach at low tide) and there are some good dive bars scattered along the island. We’ll definitely be back. As a side note, we went back to Turks & Caicos in March for the first time in about 10 years and it has gotten a little too commercialized for my liking. Just a matter of personal preference.
Knew Mr. Johnny well. He had gone to hospice about 10 days ago so it was just a matter of time. As many others have said, great man.

On a different note, we had some good football teams at Drew back in the early 90's. Riser always had a fast RB that gave us problems, but we won the Toy Bowl in '93!
Just now during the 6:30 sports center radio update, they said LSU and Florida are tied at 0 in the 1st. They're terrible.
Wouldn't waste your time on Nassau but you can get a $150-$200 r/t flight to some amazing outter islands from there. Exuma and Eleuthera are great islands.

re: Exuma Bahamas - Paging BDE

BDE here. In Turks right now, but happy to provide specifics on Exuma when we get back middle of next week. Great, great place to go. We're staying at a condo on Grace Bay and we met people today who were also recently in Exuma - we debated over drinks which one was better and it's splitting hairs but I think I'd vote Exuma just because it's an unspoiled island. It's 20-30 years behind a lot of the Caribbean and that makes it special. If you have specific questions though, fire away.

For anyone going in the next couple weeks, the Northern Lights are supposed to be incredible most nights between now through March 5th. They'll peak Feb 28th - March 2nd when activity is forecasted to be a level 5 or 6 those nights. The other nights are expected to be around a 4 which is still very active. Leaving a week from today - can't wait.
Yeah, I'll be happy to post a review of the Exuma trip. If I don't have the pictures tied to a URL, am I SOL for adding them to a post (sorry, not tech savvy)?
