I'm preparing to turn right onto a busy 5-lane road (full-sized turning median). I look to my left and it looks reasonably clear. In the median (instead of going to the cross walk 50 yards away) is a young guy anywhere from 17-25.
I politely wave for him to cross over so A.) So I don't hit him while I'm turning right and B.) So he can get over safely.
What does he do? He takes his sweet arse time, attempting to hold his pants up (they were mid-thigh) making zero effort to cross the street in a brisk manner. Keep in mind - he had nothing in his hands.
Of course, by casually taking his sweet arse time, an army of vehicles follow and I have to wait a couple of extra minutes before I can finally make the turn.
I'm not implying you have to dash across like Usaine Bolt, but don't be a dolt. DO NOT BE A DOLT. Our society has worked hard throughout the decades developed decency and societal customs - give a thank you wave when someone lets you over in heavy traffic, hold the door open for an elderly person or someone with their hands full, etc. Don't be a fricking brain-dead piece of shite and try and abide them.
Rant over. What would the OT have done?

I probably would have been annoyed but then been an adult and moved on with my day and not posted about it on the OT.

Here in Seattle I hate driving downtown because of the pedestrians who don't follow the rules
One time I had a green light and some group decided to cross anyway and I had to stop in the middle of the downtown intersection. They took their sweet time and the light turns red and the walk signal comes on. I am still in the middle of the intersection so to not block traffic I tried to inch up but since the walk signal was on dozens of people were crossing so I couldn't go anywhere. Not only was I being honked at by cars who I was blocking. But many pedestrians surrounded my car and knocked on my window and slammed their fists on my car and cussed me out. One guy cussed me out so bad and I was just sitting there like a duck praying my car didn't get beat on too much.
frick Seattle and frick pedestrians who don't follow the rules.

Get your facts straight. Were you driving drunk?

Also in Seattle you have a lot of homeless/drunk/drug addict types who are mad at everyone and think since they are oppressed they can do whatever and not obey pedestrian traffic laws. They will cross the street when they have the red hand and the drivers have the right of way, stop traffic, and just stand in the crosswalk flipping off the drivers and cussing at them as they walk slowly.

It sounds like he had the right of way but you sound like you think you were doing him a favor by waving him across.
I guess since you're in your pick-up and someone else is walking or biking, they better respect your mind, because you could 'lose it' and any time and it's your road man they just lucky you let them use it
I bet you cursed the frick out of him under your breath in your truck with the windows up huh?!!! That dude is lucky af you didn't lose it

I've learned the hard way to just follow the rules of the road and not be nice.

Probably would have just muttered something under my breath and waited for my next opening.

That's why they say they're the fastest people in the world, until they're in a cross walk.

I would've immediately found the nearest Wendy's, bought a large chocolate frosty, and then found him and douched him with it.
