Good lord. I managed to offend every person on here without a college degree. My actual point was that neither education level nor "income over 50k" can be used to solely measure whether one is more successful than another person.

My engineering degree is from a top 20 program and my income puts me in the top 5%. Does that make me more successful than my nurse friend who saves people's lives?

That nurse, in all likelihood, would be in that >50K bracket. I don't dispute that there are people below this doing important stuff. As you say, though, that would be cherry picking.

Trump voters have been stereotyped as uneducated white men, which is as close to saying "rednecks" as the media can get without tipping their cards. I am educated, and I am successful. But, in the next couple of weeks I will make a couple of guys millionaires when I buy their company, and neither have college degrees. They built this company via their intelligence, work ethic, and just being nice guys that their customers want to do business with. They have created jobs and incomes to support many families in a small Midwest town. Yet, media will still cast them as uneducated rednecks.

I'm sick and tired of this narrative, and every time I see it, I want to expose it for the dishonesty of the picture and the hypocrisy of liberals who shout down whatever THEY see as bigotry.

You make some fair points but if you are sick of the all Trump voters are rednecks narrative I want to ask if you are also sick of the "all liberals are dependent on the government narrative". They are both objectively ridiculous and countered by facts. I presented a hyperbole to expose to fallacy of the "success" argument. I think it is a two-way street though...

Fair enough.

But, which of the two does the media propagate at every opportunity?

I'll bet many voters were thrilled by it.

And I'll bet ole Kurt stopped connecting the dots right there.

CNN or Fox News?

It is all a matter of perspective. Editorial cable news is garbage. I don't need an opinion infused in my news regardless of who it favors. The most popular editorial cable news network in the country is Fox.

This is not a left-wing problem. This is an "Americans are lazy and want their biases confirmed with news" problem.

Exactly.

Which is why I pointed out that he won BOTH the educated vote AND every level above mildly successful income wise.

Lot of crawfishin on you part though. Fun to watch.

Oh, and NOTHING you posted negates the FACT that if ANY candidate dominated the "fat unemployed vote", the numbers are irrefutable. That honor goes to the wench.

I was attacking his attempt to generalize "All successful people voted Trump" because he won over 50k income
So, you attacked the response to your post which was a generalization, by complaining the response generalized?

He chose to cherry pick "over 50k income" as the definitive evidence of success.

Except this is patently false. My response combined the income and education results.

It also didn't attempt to call that level a definitive measure of success because on an individual basis, sure, more factors go in.

But, we're examining the TREND, not the individual. The TREND is irrefutable. Which, is why you tried to go individual.

It's like responding to the assertion that NBA athletes are tall by pointing out Spud Webb and saying the original assertion is false.

The odd thing is that the media doesn't seem to realize how much contempt the public has for them. They are oblivious.

Nah, I just started talking to some folks who could actually be reasoned with so I gave a more nuanced opinion. I am sure this rocks your feeble mind.
