Just a low count poster here chimeing in. One theory I have been toiling around in my mind is the reason you (democrats) lost the election is the way the media portrays the Democrat Party. When the average American sees people protesting wearing mask, setting buildings on fire, flipping over cars on the news they can't help but associate these people with the current Democrat Party.
I grew up in a blue collar family, the son of a union railroad worker, the grandson of a union steel worker and a union rubber (Goodyear) worker. My mom was a teacher ( also a union job). All of my family were blue dog democrats and I guess you could say I was too.
It seems lately the demos have abandoned there blue collar roots totally. Now it seem like they just pander to identity politics, social issues, and feelgoodisum ( I made that word up) The main problem with that is the average white voter doesn't care about those issues. Not that some of those issues are not important but like I said most people don't really care about them.
And the reason I said "average white voter" is you can't win the White House without the white vote.
Back to the media. Do you think the welder in Ohio or the pipe fitter in Florida watching the news and sees the kind of people that are protesting and burning shite up want to be remotely associated with these people? I know they are not even a small percent of the democrat party but they seem to get all the press.
I'm not a English major so get your red pins out and mark away.

Don't disagree with anything you said.
You're spot on.

Watch videos of Dave Rubin. He's what liberals used to be.
I was from a family of Blue Dog Dems as well. All but the old women in the family turned Red over the years because of their policies and devicive rhetoric.

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head. All that and then nominating an unelectable mess of a candidate is what has given us our current clown show.

I would slightly modify this to state that many may feel those issues are important, but not as important as putting a meal on the table for the family, and keeping a roof over their heads.
It is, and always has been, "the economy stupid."
The "recovery" over the past couple years has been great for large corporations and such...not so much for working class folks in flyover country. They don't have the luxury to fret over identity politics.

When sjw libs see college kids in masks burning police cars, they see Selma.
The rest of the world sees college kids in masks burning police cars.

Absolutely true as a white male with a college degree what does the Democratic party do to attract me? They rather focus on strictly minorities and identity politics. They do not do anything to address my concerns. They've turned on the average white voter, they don't do anything for me anymore.

Well, they call you dumb, bigoted and a nazi so there's that. Don't be an ingrate. Take what you can get from them.
