Any Tulane law students on here?

I heard there was a girl who was berated by some holier-than-thou professor in the middle of class in front of everyone for being a Trump supporter.
Anyone have any info on that or witnessed it? Trying to find out who the professor is.

I'd guess probably 75% of the class agreed with the professor too

No, but I was once barated for disagreeing with part of Holmes's great dissent on the 1870s Civil Rights cases. My opinion was that Crandall v. Nevada created precident to support the bans on discrimination in train cars, stage coaches, and maybe hotels under the "right to travel", but extending said protection to the restaurants, stores, and theaters was unsupportable. It's simply not interstate commerce nor is it inherent in the right to travel.
The professor's only response was "have you ever been to the theater? It's glorious! You should go some time! The theater is absolutey essential
To civilization!"

Do you know what prof yet?
I debated with Ruth Bader Ginsburg when she taught a class on our summer program in Greece. I was drunk on ouzo and her husband Marty was heckling her from the back row. I'm not sure who won. Probably Marty. CSB.
i'm curious who this prof is. With a few exceptions we had pretty even-keeled faculty when i was there. at least when it came to the classroom. i would ask some pretty troll-ish (shocker) questions in class and never got berated. Not by a long-shot.

Apparently it wasn't solicited. It wasn't a debate or a discussion. Somehow, this professor already knew her political leanings and went right into insulting her.
I wouldn't have an issue with it being a debate, if that was the case, but it doesn't appear to be that way.

my friend and i were the lone dissenters in Con Law I on every damned expansion of the ICC. I loved Werhan, even though we disagreed a lot.

There are way too many people on that faculty who could plausibly have done that.

Seems weird that you know everything about the situation except for the identities of anybody involved or present.
Where did you find out about this?

So who is the prof? My first guess would be Matumbandazo (sp?) if she is still there.

What years were you at Tulane?
I won't try to narrow you down
They are all mostly fervent liberals with maybe 3 that aren't.
They really like to talk shite about Clarence Thomas. Maybe more so than they did Scalia.

If there was a plug for his play at the end then there is no doubt who it is.

I graduated 20 yrs. ago and a lot of the professors I had are still there. That said, 80% were traditional liberals that would engage in this sort of behavior.

Not surprising. Many universities hack their students' postings and emails, so the professors get a heads-up regarding their students prior to entering the semester.
A lot of southern professors like to single out non-southern students in their classrooms when they have classroom support behind them. Most of the professors that are from the south will try to search for any kind of atrocity or race-based event that happens outside of the south to give people the false impression that racism and backwardness isn't a southern phenomenon, for instance. They refuse to address the local institutionalized racism that dominates the southeastern USA and project anything they can on non-southern states and individuals.
This is why it will be extremely hard for southerners in academia, and basically southern whites working in any other field, to find employment once the inevitable demographic transition takes place down south. You all have pissed off and tried to scam too many Yankees that were unfortunate enough to travel or work in the south.
