The Notebook. What the F***?

The wife is watching this movie, and I caught bits and pieces. This movie is supposed to be the ultimate love story for women?
What the shite is that?
The chick leaves her fiance at the alter to go frick some other dude
Then her mom tells her that she left the guy she loved for some rich dude but she still dreams about the other guy
Then the main chick leaves that other dude to go frick her fiance again
Then leaves her fiance again for the other dude again
And the conclusion of the movie is that she forgets all that shite and the side piece that ruined her marriage has to convince her to love him all over again constantly? And it's not even his idea. She writes the book and forces him to read it to her.
Can you imagine if they made this movie in reverse? Women would riot in the theater.
I assume her fiance is the protagonist in the move and Ryan Gossling and Rachel McAdams are the antagonists.

I don't want anything. I just want to vent about how shallow and hypocrital and twisted this movie is.

Heard that. The further you dig into that movie the more it'll piss you off

Jeez, thanks for the spoiler alerts.
lol, just kidding. An old girlfriend of mine used to watch this movie (well, she probably still does, but just torturing someone else instead of me), and she hated when I'd call that chick out for being so wishy-washy...if women truly hang their hats on movies like that for guidance, then no wonder so many relationships go down the shitter...

It's every cliche combined into one shitty movie. It's Cliche the Movie, like the emoji movie but less creative.

the Westminster dog show is on. Smoke some bud, get a coffee and make a verbal bracket with her on who wins.

Also,
Whose wife? I always figured you lived alone in a shack writing your anti South Park manifesto.

So literally....it's exactly like women.....funny that they're drawn to it.

Fred: You think wedding vows are going to change everything? God, your naivete is astounding! Didn't you see The Graduate?
Ted: You can remember The Graduate?
Fred: Yeah, I can remember a few things. Apparently you don't. The end? Katharine Ross has just married this really cool guy - tall, blond, incredibly popular, the make-out king of his fraternity in Berkeley - when this obnoxious Dustin Hoffman character shows up at the back of the church, acting like a total a-hole. "Elaine! Elaine!"
Does Katharine Ross tell Dustin Hoffman, "Get lost, creep. I'm a married woman"? No. She runs off with him - on a bus. That is the reality.
- Whit Stillman's Barcelona
So maybe chicks like it for the freedom the movie seems to give every woman.
Btw,..
(Only Sparks movie I ever liked by the way was A Walk to Remember and that was cheesy)
Rachel McAdams is hot as hell in the Notebook but the movie is total garbage and even a cheesy movie like a Walk to Remember is better.

The wife is what I call the Skelton of the last hooker I brought home in a wig.
You wanna come hang out in my shack and troll the OT while i wreck South Park threads? I have Mountain Dew and Cheetos. I have a vintage 1997 can of surge we could split.

Yea its a fricked up movie. Ive had similar conversations with several family members and friends over the years. It turns out some people dont see it that way, which i find astonishing.

I hate this movie so much. My girlfriend was actually angry at me after we watched it. She said I would never do all that (reading the book every day) for her.
I don't understand the female brain.

This might be doable, how do you feel about Mario Kart?

Well at least wait until you get laid to tell her how bad it sucks
Posted on 2/13/17 at 8:04 pm to Breesus
you are overthinking it. If it was just a boring normal love story nobody would watch.
