Where is the outrage towards Nigeria for hunting and selling their own for profit? They were equal parteners during slavery and are just as guilty. The dear white people crowd seem to leave this part of history out because it doesn't fit their narrative.

bullshite!

Don't you know white people trekked into the heart of Africa and captured tens of thousands of slaves? They dragged them to the coast and loaded them onto ships, with zero complicity by the locals. None. Africans were completely innocent. Slavery was all white.

Seriously, at 6 am, this thought entered your mind? Outrage at Nigerians for something that was done a few hundred years ago? Go back to sleep.

Why does a certain group get a pass when it comes to slavery? I keep hearing the white man but does anyone know who owned the Dutch West Indies Company?

I have thought many times if LaMar's great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother wasn't sold by her own people and were brought to this great country to...idk, make pancakes for free...LaMar wouldn't be here and his life would really suck. Don't get me wrong, I know that they were mistreated, but it wasn't like some holocaust.

They sure do seem to have a lot of wealthy princes in exile though.

I would LOVE to know the reasoning of the History major that downvoted this...

Or, perhaps it was just fat, clumsy fingers.

If you want an interesting read on slavery look up what Muslims did in Africa. Why is this never mentioned?

I'm really curious why he asked that question with such an obvious answer, unless he wants the specific merchants involved or something.

It was on "Roots" and anyone who has actually studied this knows that it was a part of it.

But, Nigerians did not establish this country.

Also, It doesn't take anything away or excuse the buyers from their behavior.

You do know that it's really easy to accidently downvote someone when scrolling on the phone, right?
