It's a natural culling of whales when this happens. So, instead of volunteers trying to coddle them and pet them and shove them back into the ocean, why not use them to feed the needy?
Form teams of food preparers and cooks to send to the scene and begin the process. Collect the food, cook it or freeze it, provide the product to the needy and be done with it. The non food item parts can be harvested for other products or pushed back into the ocean for food for marine life.
Problem solved and everyone wins.

Mercury levels in whale meat would equate to you poisoning the needy......how could you?

Blubber? Yeah, I don't think even the needy deserve that shite on their plate.

It's often not actually a natural culling

There has been a direct correlation to whales and dolphins beaching themselves most frequently when there is a ship with sonar and in sonar testing facilities

But they still do it occasionally just cause suicide or saw some fine titties on the beach

I don't know about whales, but I've always thought providing hog meat to homeless shelters would be a good idea. Two birds with one stone.
