They were not.

These were workers. Not welfare recipients.

We do frequent work at this mill but luckily we had no one onsite at this time. According to our salesman, someone was welding on a fuel condensate tank in the boiler area and it exploded.

Having just passed through there, just a heads up if anyone is traveling on Highway 190. It is closed west of town. Find another way around.

As for the people with snide comments, it is a small town, and that Mill is a major employer of locals. Many lives were destroyed in this tragedy, and a large part of the community is undoubtedly affected. I know there are posters on here from DeRidder and the general area, and they possibly could have lost loved ones, or died or been injured themselves. Reserve your shitty comments, as they are uncalled for. Loss of human life isn't a joke.

I usually try to keep it light, but if you have a problem with my comment, bring it on. Don't care; won't lower myself to your level with a reply. Praying for those killed or injured and all their loved ones.

*CQQ, this was not directed at you. I just replied to your OP.

One of my co-workers, who lives in the area, was told that the number of lives lost is expected to go up. Any truth to that?
