Yeah he never relied on his defense to win a super bowl

i dont think there has been a quarterback that won a superbowl without some help from his defense, unlike apparently half the world after tonight. the defense bailed out brady for his awful first half and gave him a chance. i dont understand what is so controversial about that... apparently if you say brady isnt gods gift to football you are disrespecting him

Steve Young once went 24-36 for 325 yards and 6 TDs with 0 INTs for a QB rating of 135 during a super bowl, but since he didnt have a last minute comeback to force OT its not impressive to some of you liberal snowflakes that jump on the newest headline apparently

I grew up a 49ers fan. But Brady has as many super bowl rings as Montana and Young combined.

who is the greatest is subjective... regardless, brady absolutely has to be in the argument.

Brady and GOAT is not some new headline dumbass

People have already been saying that way before this 1 game. Since you know, he's won other Super Bowls too

I'm not saying he is or isn't, just that this isn't some new thing people just started discussing

yeah, and they have always been wrong

or maybe i made up those stats...

if he was the undsiputed goat, he would definitely be on more lists than just the "game manager" one

Aside from that pick six, Brady was pretty decent in the 1st half. I'm pretty sure that despite being down 21-3 at the half, the Patriots had gained more yards and had the advantage in time of possession. They were moving the ball efficiently, they just weren't finishing drives.

In fact, if someone were to look at the stats from this game without looking at the final score, they'd probably think the Patriots won in a blow out.

The Patriots gained 546 yards to Atlanta's 344; they had 37 first downs to Atlanta's 17; and had possession of the ball for over 40 minutes. And yet the Patriots had to come back from 25 points behind and win the game in overtime.

Dude, Gronk never saw the field, and TB still threw for almost 500 yards?

It wasn't like the Pats defense was tearing it up in the first half either. They were playing like dog shite.

The offense and the defense played lights out in the 2nd half. All that does is solidify Brady and Belichick both as tGOATs at their respective positions.

don't forget about brady's pick 6 to make it 21-0 instead of 14-3 before half

i feel like now i'm talking too badly about brady. he played amazing in the 2nd half. i just cant stand everyone throwing out all the mistakes he made in the first half because of the final result. i actually dont even dislike brady, i just think despite the ring he won tonight he isnt the best quarterback to ever play the game. most successful but not the best to play the position

So damn salty.

Dude has been amazing the last two 4th quarters of Super Bowls. How many QBs in the NFL can win games against quality opponents (putting up 30+ points) by going purely one dimensional and throwing the ball?

you're the first one to bring this up and i brought it up during the game. Gronk is their only threat to take the top off the defense, and it wouldve been a completely different game if he was healthy.

In the big game, at crunch time there is no one I'd rather have than Brady. These guys aren't paid to throw for 5000 yards a season, they are paid to win championships.

But my point was that if you take Dwight Clark or Jerry Rice out of the 49ers lineup, Montana doesn't win all 4 of those SBs. In fact, without Clark, they never see the 1st SB

But clearly Brady still does

Yeah...without Clark and Rice, Montana has two Super Bowls instead of four. They don't beat the Bengals in either one of those Super Bowls. But I still think they beat the Dolphins and the Broncos. Those 49ers teams were among the best in NFL history.

and if Brees had the Patriots defense this year he has a chance to make the super bowl and then if he won it he would be the goat? its disrespectful to the guys that won that super bowl to say brady is why they won... he was the best player on their team and the QB but thats hardly ever enough.. what is the last team to win a super bowl with defense that wasnt top 5 in the nfl
