Wife drives a Hyundai and she loves it.

Oh really:
2016 Consumer Report relibility by brand
Kia = 5
Hyundai = 7
That puts them in the top tier of "More Reliable"

They are great cars, but don't hold their resale value, which makes them a spectacular buy for a one or two year old used one.
I sent my two oldest kids off to college in Hyundais. Would do it again. I regret every day that I bought the third kid a German POS instead.

Try Kia too. Sorrento is great for the money.

I've worked in South Korea. The Koreans I worked with love the USA and I had several of them ask me to help them immigrate to the U.S.
I lived there for a while, they typically love Americans, some of the younger crowd tend to have a touch of disdain...
Can't remember if it's Hyundai, but one of the big car companies isnt really a car company...it's a shipping company that cranks out ships, ando sells cars on the side.

The young ones all do....just a rebel phase. I lived and worked for Samsung for two years in Seoul and I would laugh and say you hate us so much you are wearing Levis pants and polo shirts :)
And all the Chaebols there do a million things. Most do not remember, but Samsung used to make cars.
Hyundai really improved and is a quality car. Kia is hit or miss, and I still avoid Daewoo.

They could come up with world peace, but it still doesn't change the fact that they sell shite cars.
And you don't know shite about cars. I have n office in Seoul and have been riding in the Genesis for many years. I bought my wife the Genesis R-Spec. Big 8 cylinder, loaded. Before buying tested it extensively vs Lexus, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, Cadillac and Audi. Grading was ride, gas mileage, engine, comfort package, warranty, price, extras. It was the clear winner. 30 k Miles now with no issues. One of the only R-Specs in BTR and it gets the looks. She will easily drive this cr for 150 k Miles.

Hyundai and KIA SHOULD be the most Pro-American companies on the planet and the people of South Korea should be the most patriotic Americans on earth.....a heaping pile of your tax dollars is all that keeps South Korea from being simply Korea. If it weren't for US Taxpayers Hyundai, KIA and South Korea COULD NOT EXIST. The entire nation...the people and every single business from the smallest mom & pop shop to Hyundai and Samsung are literally reaching into the wallets of American workers and businesses and taking what they need to survive.
In the ultimate irony many of you lambasted GM for getting a government bailout and won't buy a Chevrolet today because of it.......yet you see a commercial for Hyundai and think "Gee, what an American first company...". South Korea and South Koreans are Ronald Reagan's welfare queen in a Cadillac and y'all are OK with that but god forbid an American worker wants a living wage or an American doesn't want rivers in Ohio catching on fire...those people are anti-American and the only thing keeping US Industry from flourishing.....never mind that tax dollars are used abroad to create competition for US Industries....none of that matters....only Americans wanting clean air and a living wage are to blame....

Hyundais are awful. Terrible resale v
KIA is the same car and their resale value is shite...which makes a low mileage, used KIA one of the best used car buys available....(Probably Hyundai also). If you buy new Toyota is the way to go but if you buy used KIA can't be beat....2000 miles and being titled to an individual drops the value of "new" KIA by 24% or so while the same condition barely registers on a Toyota.
My wife and I have a KIA Sportage that we bought used with 14K miles on it and shipped to Europe. The thing has 270K on it now and my son drives it like he stole it and all we have ever done to it is change the fluids and replaced the timing belt at 100K twoce (it is about due again and I will probably do it a third time). This car is loaded with every single option available at the time it was build and every one of them works like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I have a 2015 Ford F350 with less than 18K on it and almost none of the electronics on it works and if the power windows last longer than 5 years it will be the first of probably 40 full sized pickups I have owned in the last 20 years which accomplished that feat....Dodge, Ford, GM...no matter .... none of the accessories last any length of time.....but that shitty little KIA just keeps on keeping on...
And on another note,....the damn thing is unstoppable in snow....8 years of German winters and I don't know that the damned thing ever spun a tire....130 MPH on the autobahn with 3 inches of snow on the ground and the damn thing is like driving on dry pavement....Jeep Wranglers and all sorts of European SUV's (AUdis etc) off in ditches and that little red KIA is blasting along without a care in the world....I don't know why folks in snow country don't give up their Subarus and buy KIAs....

Horeshite. My Hyundai Elantra was one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned. Loved that car.

Hyundai has done a great job rebranding their image by making quality products
I never understood why they didnt change their name during the rebrand. Would have sped up customer acceptance. I had doubts for years based on their name alone.
