Everyone said that last season and he was pretty good but not any better than Romero (except for the one series JR shite the bed). I hope you're right
That is way off. Jordan was at best below average behind the plate the entire year. The fact he played there at all just illustrated how much Pap struggled with the bat for much of last year.

The defensive stats between the two were discussed frequently last year and the two were very similar.
For the teams sake you mean.
Romero was the leading homerun hitter, or at least close to the top, with less at bats.

For his sake I'm hoping his shoulder injury isn't a lingering one.

I meant what I said, I feel for the kid injuries take an emotional toll on athletes.

shite, Gibbs is going to teach him to rake from both sides of the plate and people will say he was underrated going into this season. Nothing wrong with a little hope.
dude needs to just hit RH. He hit a ton of balls hard when he made that switch last year

Ok, that too.
Just to be clear, I don't have a favorite or play favorites. Who ever is playing, I'm pulling for them to succeed. I did watch every single game last year and for the last 3-4 years, so I'm going on what I saw last year.
Can't wait for opening day.

In the batters box Jake tends to hold the bat close behind his head with a slightly open stance from the right side where he shows great balance. The nature of his swing creates more lift on the ball but it can also set himself up for swings and misses at times on off-speed down and out of the zone.

My opinion is Pap is better defensively than Romero.

Pap looks and plays like a robot when he's in gear

Adam knows the drill and he plays along. There's no jealousy or animosity. I'd ignore the thread if it bothered me at all.
Same here, I respect ell's knowledge of the game even if/when we have different opinions.
This is an excellent post Adam. We're all Tigers.
