Texas take on Chaisson

North Shore defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson continues to keep people guessing.
The people who spent time with him during his UT official visit last weekend felt like things went well and Texas is going to land him.
In checking with a North Shore source who spoke to Chaisson on Thursday, the word from Chaisson himself is that he still has not made up his mind.
I was told it's still a "tangle at the top" for Chaisson between Texas and LSU and Chaisson is "debating the best fit for school and sports. And life post football."
I asked my source if that meant Chaisson was truly undecided, and he said per the latest conversation he had with the talented pass-rusher, that's the case.
This source feels like depth at Chaisson's position may wind up playing a big role in the final decision.
Both Texas and LSU are doing in-home with Chaisson this week before he heads to Florida on Friday for his last official visit. Needless to say, those in-homes will be huge.
Tough one to call right now, especially if it's true that Chaisson has yet to decide (of course, Chaisson could be sandbagging on that). But I keep going back to a couple elements that lead me to lean Texas ... (a) prior to the UT visit, a key source told me he thought Texas was the team to beat if the visit went well and (b) Chaisson has a great relationship with the UT coaches and even had Houston near the top of his list when they were at UH.

EJ Holland (I assume is the author) is the biggest homer on 247. He wrote a story after K'Lavon's OV to Texas that K'Lavon was "in the coffee house" inferring he was a silent commit. That led K'Lavon to DM him and tweet "I am not a silent commit to anybody". EJ writes stories everyday leading his fan base on how everybody is interested in Texas.

Jesus I hope we land this kid! Being a pass rusher in the Big 12 just isn't the best idea. We literally have a guy that has been coached by Aranda expected to be a top 10 or top 5 draft pick in the same exact position that Chaisson is expected to play. That's gotta be huge for him. And he had the best time at his LSU official visit so far. I think he truly is torn. He wants to go to LSU but his mom may want him at Texas. If he wants the best chance at being developed and going higher in the draft then he needs to commit to LSU. That's just the cold, hard troof.

HIM CLOSE TO HOME
3 hours away isn't really close to home.

It's pretty much the same distance to both Austin and Baton Rouge. The "close to home" excuse is lame on his moms part. Google maps has it as a 3hr 5 min drive to Austin, and a 3hr 50 min drive to Baton Rouge with traffic.

I can only imagine what a impact this guy could have in our defense. SACK monster!!!

Might come down to numbers (depth at that position), and what he wants outside of football.
