So are all these executive orders just reversing Obama's? if not, what ever happened to just enforcing laws? we shouldnt need executive orders to selectively enforce or not enforce laws. Hopefully that died with obama's legacy.

This isn't some crazy thing that only Trump and Obama have done. First, week one always has a bunch of orders. It's the easiest way to checkmark a few promises. Second, many of these aren't even executive orders. They are memorandums. Same basic rules apply, but they're less formal and aren't counted. This is why the left loves to argue this topic because Obama only had something like 277 EOs which is relatively low for a two term president. But this doesn't take into account is memorandums, which the media called EOs out of simplicity (re: laziness).

If a prior EO prohibits enforcing a law, a new EO is required to cancel it.
