Belle Chasse has a speed van? Maybe you mean the City of Gretna one often on Hwy 23? There is presently a class action suit against the City of Gretna over it.
Municipalities have tried to end run around the Constitutional issues by classifying it as a public safety "civil" offense similar to a parking ticket. (But the fines are significantly higher than parking fines.) Sort of like Edwin Edwards convincing the LA legislature that the prohibition against gambling in the state constitution does not apply to "gaming" as they chose to define it.

That's right. It's Gretna not Belle Chase my bad I get (2) tickets from it every time I go to Venice. One on the way down and one on the way home

They just got me a couple months ago. How do I get a part of this action. I searched about not paying it and it seemed like more of a hassle than paying for it so I just paid it.
