Anyone experienced in this lately or know if it's faster to mail it in or go to a post office?

TIA

I think you can visit the passport office in New Orleans and get it before you leave, if you want to pay fee for them to expedite it.

yep... within 6 weeks of flight and your ticket ALREADY purchased. you can go to your local (or closest) passport office and request one that day. usually takes 3 hours or so.

You can mail it in and get it back in less than 10 days if you pay to have it expedited.

New Orleans passport office, pay about 200$ and have it done that day. Have your plane itinerary in hand.

See Frank at any Pawn shop anywhere and he'll take care of it. Bring cash.

We went to the post office here in Baton Rouge and got there at 4. They are supposed to quit taking people at 5 but the lady was nice and locked the doors and let us stay until we were processed. Got out of there about 5:30 Was told it would take 4-6 weeks and my Passport came in the mail yesterday, which has only been about 3 weeks.
