How prestigious do you view an MBA to be?

On par with law school or engineering?

My wife has one. I prefer it that way. Make of that what you will.

An engineer with an MBA is a deadly combo for career direction.
ETA:
I am currently getting an MBA. The material is very easy. Just the workload can get crazy. Engineering and Law can get a bit more complex.

closer to on par with law school but I still put law school ahead, tougher to get into law school
you can get an MBA online from a ton of places now
definitely not close to engineering unless we are talking about Southern or something

Just like with anything I think it's fairly subjective.
A cashier with an online MBA from devry- not prestigious at all.
Hedge fund manager with an MBA from Stanford- pretty prestigious.
IMO.

The program caliber matters a lot here.

Outside of a handful of schools, no.

Anyone can get one, it's just who has the time and money to do it.

I'll be attending ULL's this Fall.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Not much. I know plenty jackasses with one.

Not very. It's about how to position yourself in your career. 3 years out of college, making great money plus bonus each year. Made C's in college but set myself up by working with a large industry leader in college and continued with them after college. I then used that knowledge I gained to launch myself at a smaller company who paid me much more for that experience I had from an industry leader.
Just gotta make your own corporate ladder and go after it.

MBA's are dime a dozen in BR. Especially for engineers.

I majored in CJ in college but have worked in business for the past several years. If I'm going to go back, it just makes sense to go the MBA route.
I've made decent money, but I'm realizing that you're not as respected on the corporate side without a business school background.

Attend class. It is a major grind, but a ton of people don't, and miss out on easy points. I made A's last semester by doing this. Also, MBA professors love interaction. Talk with them during class, and communicate with them through your webpage (we use Canvas). It is almost impossible to make lower than an A/B if you simply put in the effort.
