Central City BBQ Review in New Orleans

Since the other thread got anchored figured I would post another one.
Went today for my bday lunch with the wife and got the BBQ sampler. Everything was very good. The burnt ends, brisket, and chicken were all excellent. Ribs were very good and improved (a little more smoke and more tender) over my last trip and the sausage and pulled pork was also very good. Boudin was ok, texture was good but could use some more liver (my personal preference). For the sides we got spoon corn bread (good), remoulade potatoe salad (excellent), brisket chili (very good), and the strawberry bread pudding (excellent).
We couldn't finish it all and ended up taking almost half of it home. It's more food than it looks in pics. Not a bad deal for 2 at $50. Felt like being fattier and ended up buying the bone in bacon chop to eat for dinner or tomorrow for lunch.

Did he run out after serving that one platter?

The chili is definitely a good side. I just wish I could go by myself and get burnt ends and not have to spend $50.

Looks real good. This thread is going to turn out EXACTLY like that last one.
ETA: too late, it already has

Or not get them at all, because he only made enough for 12 people.

Were they wearing gloves when touching the food?
That video turned me off when I saw her grab the pulled pork by her hand and prepare the food without any gloves.

$50 is an absurd amount of money for BBQ.
You could get two 2 meat plates with 2 sides each from Blue Oak BBQ and spend about $32.
Probably about the same amount of food in the end.

Or you could go to wing Wednesday at Blue Oak and get 50 wings and eat until ya eyes bleed.
Also, they won't run out.

The people I saw making the food were wearing gloves. I wasn't really looking for that though.
What matters more in restaurants are if you are properly hand washing and cross contamination (changing gloves or washing hands in between preparation of foods). Gloves are not required from the board of health from my knowledge.

I've been to blue oak several times. This is more food than 2 of their plates and the quality is also better in my opinion.
I'm a big fan of Blue oak with that said. I will still go back there to get their wings, BBQ, and some of their sandwiches.

He seems to get a lot of hate on here, but he is serving a lot of people now. Place was pretty packed when I left around 12:20. You can't expect him to not run out of anything when he is only serving that day's food. Majority of restaurants outside of bbq do not have that issue and do not deal with the cook time of BBQ.
I think his instagram page said they doubled the bacon chop amount for today. Opening up any new place is going to be tough on guessing cooking/ordering quantities.
Open a restaurant and you will definitely see what I mean.

I am sure the food is very good.

You mean filled with the opinions of people who have never been to the place ?
Happy late birthday Jason

Went there for happy hour with the wife today.
30 wings + 6 high life ponies
$22 and change plus tip
Wings come naked or tossed in their bbq sauces. We got them naked and sauced them as we ate. White BBQ sauce is surprisingly good.

Yes. I've never denied that his food is good nor have I said it was bad. I'm just blinded by his douchiness and because of that I don't think I'll ever give him my money.

50 bucks for BBQ SMH, what in the hell.
