“If LSU gets Willie Gay, honestly, you could make a case they’re getting a better linebacker,” Simmons said.

Simmons currently projects Gay to sign with the Tigers.

“I do think LSU is where he wants to be,” Simmons said.

I thought this was very interesting that Barton Simmons of 247 would say this, but I agree WILLIE GAY has just as much upside as dylan moses

Anyone who watches their film objectively will tell you the same. Willie will strike you and has very good instincts. Dylan would probably test better in a combine setting, but that doesn't mean a thing when you put the pads on.

Don't get me wrong it would be awesome to have Dylan Moses, but he wouldnt be a five star if he wasn't such a freak when he was younger.

I've said this before and I'll repeat it. While Moses may be a generational athlete, it doesn't translate on the field. He never popped out to me while he was at IMG and guys like Gay and Phillips succeed because you see instinct and I just don't think Moses has that. You can help a guy get stronger and quicker, but you can't teach instincts.

I won't speak from a point of ignorance, because I haven't taken the time to watch all of Gay's film, only a few clips here and there.

And I agree that it would be great if we'd gotten Moses.

I have, however, compared film on Phillips vs. Moses, and I'd take Phillips all day, every day, any day. Hands down looks to be steadily improving, whereas Moses seems to have hit a plateau, for now at least.

Hoping that we can land some combination of Chaisson, Gay, Phillips. Any two would be awesome. All three would be fap-worthy.

I'm a Gay man if I must say so myself.

Moses is better at covering his gap assignments and more disciplined while Gay is just let loose and watch out. Both like to hit and both have great upsides. Moses may be a better interior LB. I'd take either. Moses played much better competition, at least on the films posted on HUDL.

When it comes to Tiger linebackers and Heisman poses, give me WIllie Gay over Dylan Moses.

Jamal Adam >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hootie Jones

Find the guy that's hungry and really wants to be a Tiger with comparable talent rather than the guy who has been the star all through high school and acts entitled. Attitude is everything.

We have a D Coordinator that could maximize any elite talent. This convo reminds me of when L. Collins left and people wanted to say how happy they were not to have him. I'm sorry but you're fooling yourself if you think your wouldn't have been excited to see what Aranda could do with someone like Moses. But yeah you should still be just as excited about Gary and Phillips because schools and coaches like LSU and Aranda properly nurture great talents, no matter the # of stars or noteriety(see Mo Claiborne).

Let's stop comparing anyone to Moses or any other non-recruit and just talk about the potential of our guys in our system. By comparing them it makes it sound like you're trying to make lemonade out of lemons.

This reminds me when we lost Hootie Jones and ended up with Jamal Adams.

Losing Moses and in all likelihood Allen to Bama - getting Willie Gay and Jacob Phillips - arguably we will have improved our position on the roster at the end of it.

You don't win or lose based on players you don't get - you win or lose based on the players you do get.

How about we not even worry about Dylan Moses?
Stop glorifying the kid.

I really hope that we land him. I feel like he is playing LSU and will stay home on NSD.

Look I despise Moses more than most here, but if Moses was inking at LSU and Gay at Ole Miss or Miss we'd laugh at this idea.

In the end are they comparable? Sure, but lets pump the brakes on saying Gay is better than Moses.

sounds very similar to the Jamal Adams vs Hootie Jones talk when they signed.

Moses > Gay

I hope we are able to sign Gay and he should be a huge boost for the tigers, but the only reason people are saying Gay is > Moses is because there's a chance we get him and Moses is going to bama.

It's ok to realistically view a situation and not let emotions affect your judgment.
