Just tried pecan pie for the first time in my life this Christmas. Picky eater as a kid and I've always loved pecans so I have no real explanation.

I'm not any type of animal activist or anything but for some reason, I just can't help but think of some poor newborn calf chained by the neck 4" from the ground to keep the meat tender.
