Lets see how this plays out....

A Slidell homeowner shot and killed a man who was acting 'erratically' in his front yard early Monday morning, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to a spokesperson with the sheriff's office, deputies were sent to a home in the Ozone Woods subdivision shortly after midnight.

The spokesperson said the man was 'acting erratically' and at some point the homeowner shot him. The homeowner remained on the scene and is cooperating in the investigation.

The spokesperson said that no arrests have been made at this time but that detectives are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.

Sheriff Randy Smith is expected to make a statement on the incident Tuesday.

the dead man was Seth Riley Flores, 22. His fiancée, Kirsta Maelyn Flores, confirmed that he was fatally shot in Ozone Woods, the same neighborhood where she said he had been shot about a year earlier.

Flores said the couple, who met on Facebook, had been together six years.

“I wish the police had gotten there sooner," she said tearfully.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner confronted the man and at some point fatally shot him. The homeowner, who has not been identified, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Rhonda Bunn, who lives behind the house on Robin Street where the shooting occurred, said her dogs began barking after midnight, waking her up, and she heard arguing. She heard her neighbor yelling for the other man to leave. "Then I heard 'boom, boom, boom' — seemed like five shots," she said.

If someone wakes you up making noise in your yard, you ask them to get off your property and they approach you aggressively... Fire away. You do not have to take any chances with someone all jacked up on who knows what.

Not saying that's what happened here, but a logical scenario.

Yep, castle doctrine applies to your car as well as your home. You have no duty to retreat from your car or home.
