If you don't believe that most people, of all races, would rather their children be with people who are more like themselves, then I don't know what to tell you. Now, that description can cover a wide spectrum of race, class, profession, etc., in varying degrees, but it's there.
What I find more strange are people that are so eager to prove that they are not racist, that they will give passes (in many different ways) to members of another race. I know a lot of upper class white people like that up here. For some of them, I almost feel like they would be disappointed if their kids don't bring home someone of another race.

Smart
Successful/Educated
Good family
