Just because I don't like to read something and automatically think its true I will say there is a chance the story is not 100% accurate especially because of the size of the house, however; there was a time when most people built their homes.
When my grandpa came back from WWII, my grandmother was pregnant for their first child. Being a devout Catholic, my grandpa planned on having a large family (which he ended up having.. He had 8 kids) so he built a two story house.. He would come home from work and work on it until it got dark and worked on it on the weekends. It took him about two years to build, but this is the house he built.. I think he finished it in 1949.
No one lives in it anymore and I think they are trying to sell it with the land (whoever buys it will likely only want the land)... And this was way before youtube.. so..

This photo look shopped to anyone else? It looks like they took the picture of them and then shopped the fam over a pic of the house.
Also, this review from someone who read it indicates she did have help building the house:

For starters, I don't think the author was honest in writing RISE. Supposedly .."assisted only by her kids and youtube videos," she built a brand new home without help from anyone else. That just wasn't the case. Brookins had plenty of other help. It would've been nice to have seen more honesty in that regard.

Nails, hair, and posed...BS. Not saying a girl can't do good work on a house...I work on mine...but in a ponytail, workgloves, tshirt and old jeans.
I am sure that's for the photo op. Seriously, since today no one builds their own home, I think it sounds like a more foreign concept than it is. Like I said, I am not saying the story is 100% accurate just because it could have been fabricated to make it a better story, but I don't think it is at all impossible.

I was scrolling down slow and when I first saw the top of the house and then their heads came into the picture I noticed it looked as if the picture of the house was possibly scaled to fit the family into it so yes, I think there is a chance it is.

I should have explained better. My grandmother had her first kid 10 or 11 months after my grandfather came back.

How many construction workers did she have to blow to help her get it finished?

This chick is about to get put on blast by social media. You really can't tell a lie this big looking for fame and fortune and not get called out on it these days.

The slag should be open to all manner of lawsuits from the idiotic women she convinces to follow her example- she clearly did not build that house and convincing other people otherwise- while collecting a profit- is just actively irresponsible.

Not only are her clothes and shoes clean in this pic. She's not even picking the cinderblock up. There's no way that broad flung around 30 of those things and came out looking like that.

This is what she did, you can find pics of roofers doing the roofing. She was basically a contractor and helped out/did pieces where she could. She didn't build it from scratch.
Then why the frick can't they say this instead of making this attention whore look like Tim the tool man Taylor??
