I wouldn't say "certain" but I feel REALLY good about getting him to LSU. He has always liked LSU, and he wants to play in the "best conference" (his words) and where his family can more easily see him play (many SEC games will be within 4-5 hour drive: Vandy, Kentucky, Alabama, Tenn, Ole Miss, Auburn, Miss. St., Georgia).

It's very strange that the OU insider is literally the only insider saying he's not flipping and he's not taking a visit to LSU. Everyone else is not just making things up.

I'm not subscribed anymore to 247, but he has about a 40 post thread about Phillips and only a dozen or so upvotes.

Yeah I'm not sure why they don't have more. Maybe that board doesn't have a lot of traffic or they know recruiting is a brutal game.

I've also come to understand that home mods are always being homers (excluding Hamm, here). They are just being fed info from someone who is being fed info from the staff. These kids are trying to tell everyone what they want to hear and the staff might fully believe he's not wavering.

I trust that Phillips told him he wasn't taking any visits. But surely this guy has been in the recruiting world enough to know you can't always trust a 17 yr old. And with him speaking in absolutes about Phillips not flipping, he's opening himself up to look foolish.

Yes. I SERIOUSLY doubt he or his family is actually paying for the visit, but he's making an extra effort to check out LSU. I have a good feeling about him and Willie Gay, along with K'Lavon and Big Marv.

Correction, the family is coming with him. And not to nitpick, but the only money they'll likely fork over will be for transportation to BR and back. We know how this all works. Sure, the school can't spend money on them like they would on an OV, but the money is out there to take good care of them while they're here.

I live in Richmond and I have heard nothing about Ellis Brooks other he and his family visiting Monday. Phillips is LSU bound according to my sauce.
