Mike White (Florida) - Doesn't seem likely that he would make a jump seemingly "down" from UF to LSU, but he's a NOLA guy who had great success in this state (La. Tech). Just like it won't be easy for the guy who follows Saban at Bama, it's hard to follow a legend in Billy Donovan. He can come home to Louisiana and not have to be judged against unreal success of Donovan. Basically he is in a Les Miles position -- really good is not good enough over there.
I understand the sentiment, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a realistic scenario. He is receiving nearly universal praise from Gator fans and media, and with a strong showing in the tournament will likely get a decent bump in salary. Life is good for him right now.

I don't think it's necessarily realistic, but it might be worth shaking the tree. I think Florida fans are probably realistic with their expectations of him at the moment having to replace a UF legend in Billy Donovan. It's not like White was hired as the person to replace an under-performing Donovan, or in the usual circumstances as Donovan kind of put UF in a bind by leaving well after the season ended. The timing of the search for a new coach probably hampered UF just a bit.
If he wasn't a Louisiana guy who had good success at a state school it probably wouldn't even be worth a call. However, if I were sold on him as the guy I want to be my next head coach, I would try to pitch it as the honeymoon at UF is going to end much sooner than the honeymoon at LSU. Would it be enough to get him to jump? Probably not. But it would be worth a shot.
