Y'all were so excited that day.

Well he is an upgrade from what they had.

rA'D to move to SECr

well, at the time, it was a curious move for him.
it also signaled that miles seemed to be on his last leg with alleva, who seemed pretty intent on doing what it took to get rid of him at the time...and he almost got it right, too.

Enjoy Lamar Jackson

Their defense looks the same to me

Well, to be fair he's probably better than what they had (though not leaps and bounds). Also, I don't know how much A&M "stole" Chavis as much as Chavis saw the writing on the wall with Miles and ducked out before Miles was fired. Clearly he wasn't wrong in thinking Alleva had thoughts of canning Miles

A little better in yards allowed and scoring defense and much better in red zone defense this year than before he got there.
Hasn't turned it into an elite defense by any means, but I think if we're being objective he's an upgrade over what they had.

And clearly made a great deal for himself. He knew Miles was a sinking ship. And that Miles wasn't going to get another gig, and take Chavis along. And he just wanted the same deal that Aranda got, to stay on with the next coach, have an awesome D, with a team willing to put points on the board
Don't fault him AT ALL

Chavis made the move because Miles put him on defense 3 quarters of the game. Same song at AM.

He's not the athlete Kansas state had under center, but I trust Aranda will have a good game plan. Do you have that level of confidence in Chavis?

I remember the Tigers sticking the ball up Johnny Football's arse for several years. I'm sure they will contain Jackson just fine. Louisville hasn't faced a defense like this.

Chavis doesn't get guaranteed money if Sumlin is fired after the 2017 season, since his contract expires at the 3 year mark.

A&M is just an embarrassment to the SEC football. It's amazing to me with how great Texas high school football is that the 2 biggest names in college football in Texas just can't get it right. A&M has had loads of talent recently but something is always missing. It's a shame they go get dominated by Kansas state and this seems to always happen late in the year to them to multiple teams after a solid start. Also hard to admit but the sec just isn't the typical sec this year. I think it's because of a lack of solid experienced qbs but it's weaker this year than any year recently.

Competent coaching. There's no top-down vision, no discipline, no overriding purpose.

LSU will probably do a better job than A&M did with Zack Ertz

Remember when most chodes on here wanted Sumlin as HC?

You are kidding right? Lamar should check his life insurance before the game
