I can't help but chuckle when we I think many felt jilted when Chavis left us. He has proven to be a drag on their program, not a difference maker. Let's hope he is there for many years to come.

It doesn't help that they only have 2-3 above average players on that d.

...just downright sucks.

3rd and Chavis is real... so glad we have Aranda now.

And to think that Miles fought to keep him...

Chavis is arse my dude....

Chavis' scheme isn't versatile. It only works with specific types of players at each position. A&Mac can't recruit well enough for that.

There is something to the game has passed you by, perhaps. One has to adapt to the changes in the game. Something that Les did not do and Chavis seems to be in the same boat.

True. The talent at LSU covered many of his weaknesses. I was glad when he left and am doubly glad now.

A&M does not have the talent LSU does on the defensive side of the ball.

what exactly happened to them? they seemed to be trending in the right direction his first year, ypg and ppg game were down. and I thought almost all their key guys came back, with a few promising 2015 freshmen like Daylon Mack.

Chavis is fine with an all-pro laden defense from a personnel standpoint. Very average without that kind of talent

I was chuckling at this myself. It was surprising when I saw how many snaps they are on the field. Chavis bitched after he left about our offense not scoring. Sometimes in life you better watch what you complain about. A&M's offense when it's not clicking can put your defense out there all game. At least at LSU we took our time going 3 and out.

When DAK bent him over repeatedly for MSSTs first win In 15 years I wanted his arse gone. We're still fighting LB deficiencies due to his lazy arse! Thank the lord O showed up when he did.........the D-Line is finally back to LSU standards!

Yall are effing retarded. Seriously, learn about football. How did txam do against Chavis? Worse than against Aranda is your answer. Stop hating on him just because he left. You sound like a special ed student.

Chief is only as special as his talent.

First, let me preface this with Aranda >>>>>> Chavis.
That said, Chavis wasn't a bad DC here at all. Sub-standard recruiter (and that's being nice), but a pretty good DC.
I don't think the game has passed him by. We led the SEC in D in '14 (largely because tRant pressured him to replace DJ with Beckwith after the AU debacle). In fact, I think he's ahead of the curve in dealing with all the exotic offenses of today's game. He's understood longer than Saban that you need to get more speed on the field to deal with the spread O's.
If the Aggies are struggling on D then that tells me they don't have the players. The game hasn't changed that much since '14.
