coupled with tonights loss....could you see Tres on hot seat?

Hear me about before you jeer.

On Defense: I hear talk of....well it was Dant's D back he 02...he ran the show. Michigan has scored with OSU the last few yrs(barring this yr with basically no Hart/Henne. I mean no blow outs...always respectable.

You see tonights game and last yrs MNC...kind of "run over" you might say to put it nicely. arse spanking if ya dont wanna be nice. You see Illi beat em. Last yr the only reason they beat Michigan was a dead first half after death of Bo....Michigan owned 2nd half and had that PF that sealed the win. That barely escaped.

I say the D has been geting worse with turn over of players...and coaching. OSU hires guys that wanna get to the big game asap. While at OSU they are being shown up in big games.

Offense:

Heh Tres learned his O from Rich...and had some luck with it. TP would be a great tag as a player, but the LOI is still not signed.

They got a QB down there that isnt smart enough to stay out of a Police sting. Beanie is going pro the first chance he gets...no way he risks injury(that guy is getting paid in the NFL I tell ya :P )

Anyways...the main point is that here he has been running RR's O scheme...and now he has to face Michigan every yr.

How big has Tress "truly" coached. I have watched several times as he just seems more confused than anything. He isnt the mastermind. When teams are making runs on him he looks like Rain Man...without the number counting prowess.

The numbers he is counting...is the other teams scoring as they pull away. Looking back 7 yrs, Carr and guys hurt us in those games more than helped us. Could have an asteric next to those wins heh.

I dont know...I have been more than happy to throw Tressel props that last few yrs. But sometimes it is smoke and mirrors. It isnt what it seems.

He might hack it at the lower division. But when you are running someone else's offense, your D is run nothing like it was under Dant, and you cant seem to keep the flow in the big games lately...how much credit to you really give the guy.

Remember folks...this is the program that spends more on their sports than any other in the nation. Michigan finally is stepping up on money...I tell ya I look forward to the coming yrs under RR teams. I see a fast arriving implosion at OSU.

Someone on a post I read said tOSU should stand for That Ohio State University...cause they really arent anything special.

I am starting to agree.

*Edited for some typos...think I still missed a few...shaddup*

No. Not yet. He is still a great coach. He still made it to the NC two years in a row. His past accomplishments hold a lot of weight.

Aye

but if you get the stigma of flopping at the big game, it can start to get hot. Ask Marty Shotenheimer(sp)

Tressel won't be on the hot seat for Mich loses until he has 3 or 4 in a row. With the deep zone they played in the last 2 NC games (letting the recievers catch the ball w/in 5 yrds) Rich Rod should have a field day against them

If he loses to UM and his bowl for two years in a row, yes. A certain hotseatness

put down the pipe! He won a national title, played for 3, and beat you like 8 straight in his brief career.

No way.

A lot of people think that making the BCSCG and losing is worse than making the Rose Bowl or Capital One Bowl and losing. That's just not the case. Ohio State shouldn't have been in back, but they were.

Alums, fans and AD's are fickle. This second embarrassing failure by "the vest" is obviously not sitting well in Columbus. It's amazing how quickly untouchables become touchables, especially when they are riding in elevators alone. What was that guy thinking anyway.

i don't understand the tressel criticism. ok, last year's thumping by uf was pretty bad, but this year they weren't expected to do shite. The Big 10 was suppossed to be Michigan's to lose and tOSU was gonna be a victim of payback from everyone they've been beating over the years. They were a year ahead of schedule and were simply outmanned by a better team in the title game. Unless Rod starts beating him on a regular basis (John Cooper style) I don't see the heat coming on.

I am not personally criticizing him. I think he has proven to be a very good coach. But his teams have failed on the biggest stage the last two years. These losses have to have some impact on the way people perceive him. And I have seen it too many times where people turn on coaches. You know, the "what have you done for me lately" attitude. It happened to Carr, and it may be happening to Stoops. Treseel is not above this. He does not walk on water the way Bo did. Look what happened to Woody. No matter how great he was, he could not overcome that ONE embarrassing incident.

And yes, you're right about Michigan supposedly being the one team to beat in the Big Ten this year. I am not going to play the injury card at all. Simply, what Tressel and OSU did this year in a supposed "rebuilding" year was more than impressive!!!! Kudos.
