I think most are okay with him sitting out the bowl game. It's the not traveling with the team, not attending the banquet, hiring an agent that rubs people the wrong way.

100% agreed. Tough to blame the kid for skipping but give your teammates the respect and let them finish the season right. Adams still may leave but he's doing right by his team.

When your backup gets fed the rock 37 times and breaks your record by a yard running out the clock so O can run up the score and make a win over a shitty A&M team look good, I think it's reasonable to feel like the team moved on before you did.

He's not just "sitting out" the game

He's straight up quit the team in every way.

He could have easily participated in all team activities and still chose not to play the game.

The Hip-Hopper, Jay-BZ has ruined Fournette and his once down to Earth attitude.

I appreciate what Leonard Fournette did for LSU football. However, his slap fighting video in the preseason with a teammate, his taking selfies with fans while the Arkansas game was going on and arguably in doubt, and his insistence to suit up for thd Florida game after pre game scuffle with a Florida coach and in the process hurting his team all are events that makes his final year dissappointing

To each their own I guess. But literally everything you said doesn't bother me AT ALL about Fournette. Why would two college kids slap boxing disappoint you? Taking a picture with fans disappoints you? Wanting to play a game because of how much of a competitor he is disappoints you?

I don't understand.

Anyone with a brain should agree with the decision

Sad that he got roped into McCafferys decision when the circumstances are not the same

Fournette has been injured all season and has repeatedly come back early to help the team only to further hurt himself, I have no qualms about him taking the time off to get try healthy before starting his professional career. Dude has given his all for 3 seasons to LSU and was an incredible ambassador for the school and the program and a great example for future recruits to see a hometown elite talent staying in school and enjoying the fruits of that decision.

Sure it sucks that he signed already and can't travel with the team and all that, but I can't fault him for that either. Go ahead Leonard and be successful so that it keep our program in the national conversation and speaks loudly to young elite recruits wanting to play ball here. Go feed your family and make your money.

To anyone bashing him and cursing him and all that shite, go frick yourself.

This is retarded. They weren't trying to break Leonard's record--why in the world would they? They were trying to win the game. A game that got too close for comfort, mind you. Hence the giving it to our best player and running out the clock.

And there's a much smaller gap between Fournette and Guice than there is Guice and Williams. So of course the superior back was gonna get a ton of carries. Please.

I've got no problem with Fournette sitting out because he's hurt and has played all year that way. As long as that remains the standard. If we start seeing guys like Jamal Adams(who is actually projected to go higher than LF) not playing in bowl games, then we've got a problem. It is indeed, a very slippery slope. One I don't want our players to tip toe the line on.

I think he can still be on the sideline at the bowl game. Just not as a student athlete. Just like former players who are now in the NFL can be on the sideline.

Well this just isnt the case.

Sitting out the bowl game due to injury is just common sense. Not travelling with the squad makes all that talk about his LSU experience and teammates as brothers ring kind of hollow for me.
