I Wish Christopher Hitchens Were Alive Today

As the greatest intellectual of our time I am genuinely curious as to his thoughts on the current state of America. I may try to go to a medium this week to see if I can connect with him to get his feedback.

he'd have more to say about a pederast working as an editor at vanity fair.

It's a tragedy he and Carlin didn't live to see 2016. I'd go so far as to say Hitchens may have been enough to secure Bernie's nomination, since I'm almost certain that's who he would have voted for and would have been on every talk show in the country to try to make sure Hillary did not get the nomination. If the election still went the way it did, I would have loved to have heard from these two.

Yeaaa for some reason I don't see him being very popular around here. He pretty much shut down any person that tried to debate him on religion but in a very eloquent way. Once in a lifetime intellectual and debater. Will be drinking a Johnny walker black in memory.
Translation here- Man in red spandex and tail is now poking him with giant fork.

I think everyone here would love him during the Primaries destroying Hillary. General election... probably not as much, but no man ever hated or slammed the Clintons more than Christopher Hitchens.

Yeah, I don't think he would either. Nothing Hitchens can say about Trump can damage him more than what Trump himself said, so I think Hitchens primary resolve would be to get Bernie nominated, and then go after Trump from there. He'd only be liked here during the primaries.

I completely agree. I'm well aware of his opposition to the clintons. But would he go so far as to support trump? I honestly don't know. It's a very interesting question. When trump does something stupid half the country says he's trolling and laughs nervously with each other. Hitchens would have definitely had an issue with that. Of all the stuff I've seen and read from him, I don't know who he would end up supporting. Maybe neither.

hitchens was just off the charts brilliant, but I think way too much weight was given to his opinions
there are a lot of smart people, he was different because he was interesting. I don't think he ever had a conversation with someone where he wasn't interesting.
