Big John Mayer fan here, mates

Loved the album before last with "queen of California" and "something like Olivia"

Lana Del Ray a close second

Love on the Weekend has been on spotify for weeks. I like it. Kinda mainstream pop sounding, but anything JM does is good music.

I respect the man as a guitar player and he write some decent mope rock early on. But I am not sure I can ever get over Your Body Is A Wonderland. Ever.

The live in LA version of Neon is my favorite song by a long shot and he's the best guitarist I've ever seen live, but everything since battle studies has just been bad...

Most of his music, imo, is garbage yet Try and Live in LA are great albums.

I wish he'd stick to the blues stuff because he's real good at it. I also enjoy his R&R HOF performance with Gary Clark Jr performing "Born Under A Bad Sign".

YOUR BODY IS A WONDERLAND is an awesome song. It's hard for artists to write feel good songs like that anymore.

I respect JM, but...

Love On The Weekend could easily be given a dose of twang and sang by Jason Aldean

it's that bad

Its perfectly fine as a stand alone pop tune. Compared to the previous stuff John Mayer has written/performed, it feels very lackluster.

Ive said it in another thread, but I hope this is just a standalone track, or filler material for his new album. I was pretty excited when I found out he was working with Steve Jordan & Pino Palladino for the upcoming album, and was a little disappointed when I first heard "Love on the Weekend."

Battle Studies is OK

Born and Raised is easily his second best album and it's constantly underrated. That and Continuum are his most cohesive and honest projects.

Yep, Walt Grace's submarine test is probably his best written song. It's fantastic.
