Didn't you buy a midsize pick up truck? Now you are following the current jacket trends? Why don't you come out the closet already baw?

FFS Barbour isn't even in the same list as the others. WTF is wrong with you
Here is the definitive hierarchy of larger brands. I'm not including obscure Euro brands or fricking Spyder.
1) Arcteryx
2) Patagonia/Simms
3) Mammut/RAB
4) Mountain Hardwear
5) Marmot
6-100) lots of shite
101) TNF
102) Columbia
Barbour and Filson are for lumberjacks, frat guys and seattle hipsters. It's great shite, but wearing a 500 dollar waxed cotton coat for any real outdoor use in the era of synthetic insulation and gore tex is absurd. Plus, Barbour fits like a tent.

Can we get a fashion board for all these "guys" who feel the need to care about what other people wear?
Posts like these always alert us to the slobs of the OT.

It's only a matter of time before Arcteryx and Marmot become the new North Face.
Honestly, a great testing ground for winter trends is Big Cedar Lodge in SW Missouri. Big Cedar is a national Top 10 lodge. Real ballers as well as occasional posers from across the country vacation there. My wife and I frequent there especially at Christmas.
I've already seen the shift this year.
There's a few people wearing Patagonia, but they're mostly couples in their 20s or low 30s. Haven't seen ANYONE wearing North Face.
More people are wearing Marmot and Arcteryx gear than Patagonia. And I've seen a few really sharp couples wearing Barbour.
I mean...you can just tell.
Marmot and Arcteryx is about to become overexposed. Patagonia is about to shift from hipster trendy to the brand EVERYONE wants.
But the Barbour people are just quietly counting their cash and lot in life while laughing at the wannabe wealth sporting their "look at me" logo wear.

You are wannabe wealth and have the self confidence of a fat teenage girl constantly asking for opinions.

frick you. I wore North Face before it was popular, and will wear it after it goes out... I love it and don't give one damn of its trendy or cool
Same with Columbia.

Good shite for non-gapers. Patagonia also makes quality shite. North Face isn't worth a damn thing other than making those Denali jackets for college frat bros

Staying ahead of the curve brother, respect.
What are they btw. I have an unhealthy obsession with the business side of outdoor retailers.

North Face use to be the preferred quality outdoor brand until is was bought out by Vanity Fair and started popping up in every chain sporting goods store.

Costco recently had the puffy Patagonia down jackets for little less than $150
Love my new Patagonia jacket, keeps me warm.
