so yes at the moment the zombies are the only real threat of random bodily harm. this is a subtle shift in where the show has been going and i wish they'd expand on it a bit...ie: show the saviors actually doing what they say they do (security)

Rick, is that you? Their constant false sense of security and bad decisions based on that had been their constant undoing.

There is no safety and even whatever relative safety may come from Negan, you can never be sure what he or especially his men, would do to some lady out by herself, they are pretty rapey. And as you even mention, there's always strays. So why risk it?
