Herman didn't choose Texas because of money. Fisher is not staying at FSU because of money. Do you seriously believe Fedora, Holgerson, Gundy etc are work 5-7 million dollars?
Also, if Jones doesn't produce in hoops, the question about a high dollar hire comes down to how much the boosters are willing to shell out, not the willingness to pay. I will also point out that a lot of coaches previously on our wish list from long ago didn't exactly pan out when they stepped up in class. (Think Anthony Grant)

LSU is about to find out you get what you pay for. The thing is if you spend a lot and have success you make it all back and then some. You go for a bargain and fail you lose money for years.

RIP Joe Dean and agree with the OP 100%. I believe some sad times are ahead of us unfortunately unless we quickly get rid of Alleva. Didn't really know how bad he was till the Florida fiasco but he is absolutely worthless and it seems that only at LSU would we hire a Duke flunkie.
