Cheese enthusiasts, I'd like to make a recommendation

I was never a huge cheese guy. I love it as a topping. Nachos, burgers, chili, etc, but I'd never really had a cheese that I really really enjoyed enough to just eat by itself or on a cracker. About 10 years ago my mom (no pics) visited a friend in Spokane and they made a trip to Pullman and visited the Washington state university creamery. She brought back some cheese called "cougar gold" that was the best cheese I'd ever put in my mouth.
I visited my parents a few months ago and they had a can in the fridge. It used to be sold locally only and they only did a few batches per year, but now you can order it online.

I've tried the cougar gold, smoky cheddar, and dill garlic. All 3 are amazing but the cougar gold is tough to top. I just got a can of the hot pepper in today and will bust in to that when I finish off the smoky cheddar. Just though I'd pass it along for anyone out there that loves a good cheddar. You won't regret the purchase

I love Cougar, we get it once a year. This cheese at Costco is very very close to taste and texture:

Never had cougar, but the Coastal cheddar at Costco mentioned above in my house cheddar. A great cheese for the pricing point.

I love cheese, but cheddar? That's probably one I could live without.
Speaking of, have y'all tried the Vallagret cheese from Ms State?
I need to order some.

In Rheims two years ago, we had a cheese called Langre I believe. It was the most heavenly cheese. I've never seen it here in the states. I think it is fairly exclusive to the. Champagne Region.
