I get your point, but Mett is pro-style obviously & passed all over Bama in '12 & did enough to win the game. Anthony Jennings could move but LSU didn't use him like a DT, again should've had that game in '14 won. So let's not act like they are unbeatable. Take this most recent loss to Bama. Replace Etling w/Mett, better OL & see what happens. There were throws to be made but he just folded. A pro style is certainly capable of beating them, but a bad arse OL is necessary & we aren't there. I do agree that a DT can mask a weak OL, is tough to defend, & gives Bama fits. So I get the move

There has to be more going on behind the scenes because I find it incredibly difficult to believe a solid verbal flips that fast after an offer to another qb.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for coonasses, but I gotta agree. IF LK and Tua end up at LSU then maybe this is a brilliant stroke, but right now, just right now I do not have confidence that the one time DL coach at LSU is capable of such.

You got me laughing pretty good on this one.
Truthfully, I can not at all see any scenario that warrants these actions by the coaching staff. You have arguably the nation's top QB (and lets be honest... we don't exactly have the best recent track record with QB production), and he is extremely passionate about being a future Tiger... and then we treat him this way?! I'll never understand it.
It's a pipe dream to assume that Tua, a kid from Hawaii who has never been to Baton Rouge on a visit, whom has decided for a while that he'll be an EE, would suddenly decide to accept our offer?
Let's play the game here though and say that TT did communicate a sudden desire to come to LSU... well, you still can wait until the ink is on the papers, and he is actually enrolled in January. THEN, we could give Brennan a chance to still stick with us, or shop around a little more. Signing day would still be months away, and he'd have more than enough time to make a decision without feeling he was dealt a raw deal.
If you have the nation's top QB, passionately committed... YOU DON'T MESS IT UP!!!!!

With the talent that LSU brings in every year I honestly believe that we can beat bama with either a DT or PP QB. The missing piece hasn't been the players, it's been the lack of ability of the coach to adjust the game plan or the offensive coordinator/QB coach to develop a QB or an offense around the QB's strengths. Hopefully those coaching issues will be corrected real soon.
