i wonder if the streaming service will be a bit behind like if i was streaming on a computer to where twitter will spoil sporting events, etc.

not a huge deal but just curious

I subscribed this morning. I was going to buy an Apple TV anyway but did not see one on discount for black Friday or Monday without a hassle so I pulled the trigger on $105.

I still have cable too so will need to decide what to do. But with buying the Apple TV I look at it as having 3 months to eval.

Will test on Amazon TV later today. Have an early meeting to go to.

Will also test logging in to various media sites.

Is there no iPhone app for this? I signed up this morning for directv now but can't find an app for my phone.

They just set me up in 5 minutes but abc,NBC,and fox aren't included even though the salesman insisted they are. Anyone else have this issue,of course day one with att and it's not as advertised

For what it's worth: added info about the promo offer

$35/mo for 150 channels

• firestick or Apple TV offered if you sign up before the end of the year

• HBO & Cinemax offered for an additional $5/mo each

•after promotional offer ends, price will stay at $35/mo but the # of channels will drop to the 60 channel package.

As I know little about this stuff, is the idea to get a Direct TV subscription through PC and then use a firestick to put it on the TV?
Also, what do you use for recording shows?

I ordered the 3 month prepay.
Hooked up the Firestick I bought in that July sale (but never opened) and netflix and prime work fine on my TV. But Direct TV now's audio was making sounds like a loud paper shredder. I shut it down and switched inputs, and now it won't load at all..completely blank screen on the TV; but netflix works fine.

Another question - if I get an antenna so that I can pick up CBS, is there a way that I can just turn off the fire stick and switch to the antenna, or do I have to unplug it every time?
