Why would anyone think Fisher would leave a top program for another top program in a lateral move?

It is a top job. Not over Texas. LSU would have gotten Jimbo over FSU if he were coaching somewhere else. Alleva wanted Coach O or Jimbo. Jimbo has a top job and a broken family with a very sick child. If the X doesn't want move he wasn't moving. Jimbo is not a Saban quality coach. He wanted more money than Saban. Alleva waited 2 months to get something going with Herman. Everybody knew he was a Texas lock if they wanted him. He went to school and already coaches there. My problem is that Alleva wanted O from the beginning until he shite the bed against Florida. No one else was considered but these 3 is the problem.

Nobody wanted this job except O. Why is that? We have a recruiting hot bed, first class facilities and fans who will adore you for life if you win. What happened to change all of this? Clearly we overestimated ourselves here.

My second thought (after fire Alleva) was that we obviously are overestimating the attractiveness of this job. Maybe no one ready to deal with the gauntlet that is the SEC west and Bama. Praying for a solid OC and QB coach now.

Apparently the LSU job is way overrated

What else can you say? It's proven to be true. Orgeron was the best we could do.

Look at our history.
Charlie Mac, Bo Rein, Jerry Stovall, Bill Arnsparger, Mike Archer, Curly Hallman, Gerry Dinardo, Nick Saban (before famous), and Les Miles.

When was the last time LSU actually named a high profile head coach from another team? NEVER! Orgeron may be the perfect fit for LSU. No one recruits better than Coach O; He obviously lets his assistants do their jobs, he will make the changes necessary. I doubt Peveto is retained. Ensminger deserves to stay, but not as OC. The real OC will be upstairs or on the field, but Steve E will be the other one and perhaps end the confusion of getting the play in.

Relax, we will have a great recruiting year and O will have them playing to their highest level. Plus in LA, we can understand him as well as the Assistant Coach in Waterboy.

Chill Tf out. Most of this board is acting like they on their period.

You want to force Jimbo to come here? Or let him extort us for 10 f ing years?
Or make Herman leave a job with low expectations

The worst part about this is now Michael Wilbon, after crapping on LSU, can say "I told you so". Everything the guy said, like it or not, was absolutely right. LSU isn't nearly as important and great of a job as we all thought.
