Gotta have a knee replacement. Any Rehab advice?

Do what you are told by your MD and PT and you'll be fine. That's all there is to it.

It all depends on you. My pussy arse brother in law who is a former marine was on crutches for 3 months.
My 84 year old grandfather was walking on his 10 days post OP.

Good luck.

You'll probably have home health to start off with. The nurse will come out to monitor the incision for s/s infection and the physical therapist will come to get therapy going since you won't be able to get out for a little while. Once they feel like you can do outpatient therapy, they'll d/c you. You'll be fine. If you need a good HH agency, I know Bayou Home Health and Feliciana are both very good.

Make sure you have a good kinesiologist.

Accept the things you cannot change;

I tore my ACL in high school and my main rehab stuff was stretching, timed wall sits, stationary bike, walking on a treadmill backwards, standing on unstable foam pieces etc.

My wife had knee replacement surgery last Thursday. She was home Friday night and I've been driving her to rehab since Monday. She was able to walk on it without crutches by Tuesday.

Roxie's, Percs, Norcos, and some Fentnayl if you can find it.

Curious, what are the restrictions once you're fully rehabbed? I assume no contact sports. What else?

I'm not aware of any restrictions, but the Doctor probably assumed that my wife wouldn't be playing any contact sports.

Be aware of blood clots. Be very aware.
Google Steve Bartkowski knee replacement. His heart stopped in the hospital. That is not unusual.

My uncle had it done about 4 months ago. He said he no longer has any pain there, but damn that thing is swollen all the time. Dr said it was his immune system attacking the new knee.
