This is spot on. Why ppl slam posters with inside info is funny to me. Whoever they talk to will each have their own opinion on the direction of the search. Other than the basic fundamentals. Anyway thanks for the info. I will say I've been melting thinking O gets it but I do know this class will hold with O and we lose a ton of players. Of the staff is such a grand slam well I feel better about things a little. I still want jimbo or Herman first and foremost

Thanks for getting it. This is my personal list

Fleck
Herman
Mcintyre
Gundy
Fedora
O

I like the model LSU hired with Saban and MIles. Coaches in #2 schools that have competed and built a program.

correct. I never should have updated because it wasnt anything new. The info was similar to the info that had been brought up before and i figured id get this crap. Some wanted an update so now they have something to complain about.

Sorry. That wasn't directed at you. What I meant was that over the past 48 hours it looks like there has been a smokescreen of new information being put out by "sources" on ESPN.

In the end my gut is that LSU and fisher has been a very quiet done deal since auburn.

I wish A&M would fire Sumlin and hire Fleck. The guy can build a roster and motivate. Plus, he is clearly a lot of fun to be around.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "we will not overpay" and "we are ok with O" message coming out of the LSU Admin isn't a negotiating ploy to let jimbo know the top salary has been met and negotiations are complete. I say the jimbo plane lands in Baton Rouge Sunday by lunch.

So, we're likely going to be left standing around with our dicks in our hands and Ed Orgeron as HC.

I'm pushing for mass firings if this happens. I still can't believe we hired the dickhead who expelled all of the Duke LX players.

Like I said, It would not surprise me, because I was told lines of communications are still open.

Relax Francis. Did JA look nervous to you in the AD suite Thursday? LSU will get who they wanted. Time will prove if they wanted the right one.

Sure wish LSU would've hired spurrier in 89 instead of Mike Archer. He and Arnsbarger set back LSU recruiting with LA HS coaches until Dinardo got Faulk in 1995.

Arnsparger recommended we hire Archer when he stepped down. Spurrier didn't even make the final round of interviews, I don't think. Then Arnsparger took the UF AD job and hired Spurrier. Archer didn't recruit worth a damn, which lead to Hallman and the disaster of the 1990s.

If Herman chooses Texas over LSU for anywhere over $5M, he's an idiot. LSU has a much better talent base and he could be competing for a national championship next season. It would be a Kliff Kingsbury move. He chose his alma mater when he wasn't ready instead of waiting a year and getting a top P5 job. Do you really want a coach who makes dumb emotional decisions?

Historical look imho:
LSU fires Cholly Mac
Bo Rein killed in plane crash
Stovall emergency hire
Stovall = good at recruiting, poor coaching

Enter Arnsbarger = great coach poor recruiter
Arnsbarger wins with Stovall recruits
Arnsbarger takes UF AD job
He Jobs LSU by recommending archer while hiring Spurrier.

Archer decent coach terrible arrogant recruiter who destroys LSU relations with Lousiana HS coaches
Archer fired when the talent ran out.

Enter hallman terrible coach speaker and recruiter. Finally fired after completely destroying the LSU program.

Enter Vanderbilt HC Gerry Dinardo who was great for where the program was at that time. Rebuilt relationships and excitement in LSU football. Fired after unable to hire quality replacement coordinators. Remember Lou Tepper.

Enter Saban then Miles both very good coaches and recruiters.

Like I said before, the lines of communication are still open with Fisher. So this could be the wild card. I would not be surprised if Sexton swoops in last minute with an offer LSU cant pass up, but that is not the case this second.

This right here is the most interesting part. Would be in line with what others have said. Everything has been a deflection and Fisher will be the coach. Swoops in at the last minute my arse...this has been a done deal.

Is this the longest thread in TD history? I've never seen one hit 700 posts but I've spent most of my
Time since 05 just reading it once a week until this coach fiasco
