For what it's worth--I have a source telling me there is mutual interest from both sides to bring Art in as an offensive consultant regardless of whom they hire to run the show. Exact quote "we want to light up the scoreboard."

Why would Jimbo or Herman need an offensive consultant?

Guys---an offensive consultant is not the same as an offensive coordinator

So, in your fantasy land, LSU will force its brand new coach to keep a fricking rape peddler or hider as a consultant "to light up the scoreboard" when in fact we are going after coaches that have great offenses? Get fricked, clown.

The OP is almost certainly trolling. But he's not talking OC, he's talking about hiring Briles as a consultant... or like an "analyst"... in the same way Saban hired Sarkisian this past fall as an analyst for $35k, give or take.

He wouldn't be on the field, wouldn't be responsible for managing people or anything of that nature. In that capacity, he's just get paid to study LSU film and advise on the field coaches on ways to use offensive players.

It's still almost definitely BS since the incoming head coach would likely want some say on who gets hired for these jobs. But the idea itself is not without precedence.

Sources confirming this has some serious traction if Herman is hired.
