Honestly, if they would stop playing games and trying to maneuver, they could get this shite done. Just come up with a deal and go balls to the wall with your number one pick. If that falls through go to your number two. Waiting this long and letting names leak just ruins the process. Now you got your number 2 guy who knows about the number 1, so when you come crawling to then umber 2 hes all butthurt cause he was your backup. We suck at coaching searches, they should have put someone besides Alleva in charge.

O shouldn't have even been seriously considered. Now you pumped his head up and he's gonna be even more butthurt when he's passed over. Should have just gone after Jimbo from the start and only Jimbo, if he couldn't agree in a timely manner to your highest possible bid, move on.

Not going to happen. Chaos stretched over time is a negotiator's best tactic.

In this case, agents like Jimmy Sexton will create rumors, false reports and misinformation on a daily basis, all wrapped up in a passive-aggressive presentation that will curl your hair. It's designed to wear down the opponent and make them angry. If he/she gets angry, they lose because when you're angry you will always make a mistake. And with Sexton, it only takes one.

If I were Alleva, I would offer Herman $100,000 to just fly over to BR for a couple of hours. The next day - late the next day - I would call Sexton saying I was returning an earlier call. Just professional courtesy... Then see what happens to this hot Jimbo / cold Jimbo crap.

You guys are comedy gold. This all about negotions and each side appearing to be in control. Good agents are masters at this. Good managers are also. There are human factors involved here like Jimbos' kids and personal like decisions. Alleva has not screwed this up by offering O a fair shake. It appeased the idiotic media if he started winning which he did, but he also lost enough for those same idiots to say oh well they really should look elsewhere which is what they have been doing since September.
