I wasn't talking about the reactor specifically but just how they dealt with the 2011 tsunami in general.

Damn! I worked for a Japanese company in 2011 when the last one hit and it devastated our infrastructure and manufacturing processes. Gladly I no longer work there but I feel really bad for the people who live in that area.

When they rattle off the name of a city combined with the prefecture and all the other naming customs for the area it always makes me feel like it is the name of some future dystopian setting.

They just said that Japan has built seawalls up so it shouldn't be as bad.

That being said they just had a 5.4 after shock. And while the initial quake wasn't as strong as the one 5 years ago (a 9), this one was more shallow so it could be just as dangerous.

Some of the videos from the 2011 Tsunami are incredibly surreal.

Yep -Yikes:

NHK earlier said these smaller one's were consistent with previous tsunami... and may precede a possible larger one.

The water has changed flow in the past five minutes. It was flowing out, now flowing in (right to left is out to sea, left to right is toward land)

Edit...

It is still flowing outwards

This tsumani is only 10 feet high. I doubt many people & businesses will be impacted by this since the 133 foot tsunami hit this same area a few years ago.
