No they just lower it. Water is still in the channels
Vernon lake in Leesville is the same. Went out there last week and it's bone dry except the channel. Pretty cool to walk out there and look at all the structure can sometimes find arrowheads out there

Regardless, Chicot Lake is closed to all boating activity.
