Reykjavik or Dublin?

Found some WOW deals in March, both around $300 RT from NY. My buddy and I like to drink a lot, or I guess I should say we can. We don't want to spend a crazy amount of money since we're only 24 and 25. Has anyone been to both and could tell me which one would be better? I know Dublin is amazing, but does Reykjavik's cool and/or unique factor make it a better choice?
Also, how much is it for carry-on bags for WOW?

Been to both if your on a budget Dublin is much more inexpensive. Reykjavik is like that I believe because it is so isolated a lot more things are imported and more expensive. Women in Iceland are hot and nightlife nice. Just depends what exactly you are looking for.

Reykjavik. Drink lots of brennavin. Iceland is truly one of the most magnificent places you can go. Absolutely incredible beauty. There is nothing like it on earth.
How long are you going though? Will you have a car? Are you planning to just stay in Reykjavik or actually explore? If so definitely go to Iceland. You won't regret it.
We did a wow trip last year in February and got to see the northern lights and it was magical. My family is also from iceland so I may lean a little toward that

Either one would be a win, I'd lean towards Dublin. It's London-light.
The talent is good either way and both are bucket list destinations.
I'm a history guy, Ireland has a bit more than Iceland.
Just one little consonant difference....

Can't speak to Dublin but Iceland is incredible. Reykjavik is full of fun bars, but it's definitely expensive.

Dublin esp Temple Bar is more expensive than London. London isn't actually that bad. Iceland is stupid expensive.

I went to Dublin in the Spring, the wife and I had a good time. There are a bunch of different day bus tours you can to Northern Ireland, if you are interested in seeing Belfast. The castles are cool.

Really? SOHO London was the most expensive thing I've witnessed in my life. We didn't really drink anywhere else in London tho.
Do you have any idea what the average pint cost would be?

I'm working on 3 nights in Dublin and 5 days in London/ Kent right now and they are actually fairly comparable price wise. Our Airbnb for Dublin was the same price as our place in London in Paddington. But I'm not planning on spending a bunch of time in the Temple bar area, that's like the most expensive strip in all of Ireland probably. Not sure what the exchange rate is for Iceland right now but the Euro is only $1.06 right now which helps for Ireland.
Yes beer is expensive in the expensive parts of Europe but the cheaper parts is no different than the states.

There is no Blue Lagoon in Dublin. But the beer is a lot cheaper.

How much is your nightly rate for the Airbnb in Dublin? I am looking to take my son there next year as a college graduation gift. Thanks

There's a ton of them for $100-200/ night. I wanna say I paid $533 total for 3 nights and its literally 400 meters from Temple Bar. Our place is slightly above average looking (pretty average really), but it is 2 bedroom we wanted our girls to be able to pass out away from us so we could stay up and have some beers or something. It also has a small kitchen and a washing machine we wanted again with our kids. As opposed to the average Euro hotel room being like 180 sq ft and even small for just a couple. We wanted to splurge on the extra bedroom, the kitchen, and the location so we could be right there out the door but more importantly get back quickly for naps. If you just want a cheap place to crash you can probably find one for $100 or less. But there was also quite a few for $300+ that were really nice.
One of the reasons I used Airbnb specifically is because they charge you now, and the Euro is down to $1.06. I'm assuming its going to go up in 6 months. As compared to a hotel won't charge you until you arrive or check out.

Thanks. I would want a 2 bedroom. My son will be 23 then and I would just prefer we have our on rooms. I am not cheap at all but going to the area of Dublin that is really expensive doesn't intrigue me. If I am going to spend $8-$10 on a beer there better be naked women in front of me.
I would rather go places where the locals hang out. We will do tours and stuff during the day. At night I want to go places where I can barely understand what the Irish bastard is saying.

I was looking at WOW's list of things you cant bring onto the plane. Doesnt say anything about alcohol or even the amount of alcohol. Anyone know if you can bring it on?

Are you referring to Temple bar? I generally agree and I wasn't planning on staying there either, but literally everything "big" to do in Dublin is within a mile of there basically. Maybe a tad more like the Guinness stuff but still close. I wasn't going to save any money by staying outside of the downtown area, especially when you consider transportation and time costs.
You can always find a pub to have a cheaper drink by walking a block or two off the big areas.
