Use Saints record over next two weeks as an indicator for rest of season

The Saints play two defending Super Bowl participant teams over a 5 day span.
2-0 - Saints are a playoff team without a doubt.
1-1 - No reason to lose hope. We are in the same position two weeks from now as we are today with a little more positive outlook with a softer schedule ahead.
0-2 - Time to hang it up. At the end of the season, the 2016 Saints are no different from the 2014 and 2015 teams.
If we win this weekend, I think odds increase to 50-50 that we are a playoff team at the end of the year. What say you?

Next two weeks will decide a lot.
First and foremost we need to go 2-0 in the next 9 days.
Second, we need to have some luck with Vaccaro's predicament. Hopefully the league fricked up and the suspension is null and void. Or, at the very least, it can be delayed until next season by Vaccaro appealing it.
Or possibly get it reduced to 2-3 games.
Worst case is that we get him back for the Cards game. If that's the case then we would just need to hope and pray to go 2-2 during that stretch without him.

If we win the next two we'll be 6-4
Lose next two and I'm betting it'll make us a 4-6 team

If we win the next two games and Vaccaro is active by the time we play Arizona we should win the division.
If we lose both then we're not title contenders and we're in store for another 7-9 season

i'd be cool with a 1-1 split over the next two games tbh.
2-0= goes without saying
0-2= depends on how we lose. A blowout loss would obviously be a bad sign but I don't see that happening. The time of possession has been working well lately. But a loss is still a fricking loss and losing sucks so no lets hope 0-2 doesn't happen.

Neither of these teams look like the teams that made it to the Superbowl a year ago.
I fully expect a win this Sunday.
I then expect a war on Thursday.

If we win the next two games we are superbowl contenders. If we win one of them, we are still in the hunt. That's 6 of 7 against a not so cupcake schedule. Every loss we have has been a quality loss minus atlanta. we have basically played the best teams in the nfl minus the pats and cowboys

I don't think 2-0 guarantees a playoff game at all. We just started too far in the hole for that to be true.
Other than that, I agree with you.

I respectfully disagree. we get to 6-4 I'd feel good about making the playoffs. They'd be arguably the hottest team in the league. Would have rams, Tampa(x2, lions (solid team), cardinals and Atlanta. I'd feel confident about them winning 4 of those

IMO, it's beat Denver or bust. Can't fall below .500 again.
Sunday is a must win.

I will not say that Sunday is a must win because I give us a chance in Carolina. With that being said I fancy our chances to go 1-1 in these games and probably are more likely to win Sunday vs Denver and lose to the Panthers.
Important to win Sunday because it guarantees us at least 5-5 after 10 ballgames. I know it sounds silly, but it will almost be like we are playing with house money.
I have said for weeks that our goal needs to be 8-7 going into that final game with Atlanta and hope they are 9-6. For that to happen they need a few more losses. So going 2-0 over these next two could moves that record to 9-6 and the Falcons to 10-5 after 15 games.

Virtually every game from here on out is a must win for us when you 4-4 at midseason. The team doesn't need to look ahead at all but focus on winning and minimizing injuries particularly this week with only 3 days of rest and prep time for Carolina after today.
