The Democrats will now control next to nothing above the municipal level. Donald Trump will be president. We are going to be unpacking this night for the rest of our lives, and lives beyond that. We can’t comprehend even 1 percent of what’s just happened. But one aspect of it, minor in the overall sweep, that I’m pretty sure we can comprehend well enough right now: The Democratic Party establishment has beclowned itself and is finished.

And this is before all of the truly awful stuff comes out into the open under a REAL DOJ....

I hope they never recover.

We should blame all those people around the Clintons more than the Clintons themselves, and the Clintons themselves deserve a ridiculous amount of blame. Hillary Clinton was just an ambitious person who wanted to be president. There are a lot of people like that. But she was enabled. The Democratic establishment is a club unwelcoming to outsiders, because outsiders don’t first look out for the club. The Clintons will be gone now. For the sake of the country, let them take the hangers-on with them.

For at least 2-4 years, the Republicans have full control. Hopefully they will do some good. I'm tired of our government being so unproductive like it has been the last several years. Time to cut some spending!!!

For all intents and purposes, so is the old guard of the GOP.

That said, the DNC was skewered by Wikileaks and rightfully so.

Yesterday I heard a conservative commentator say it will take decades for the GOP to recover. Weird how things worked out

He might have killed the DEMs, but he did completely blindside the GOP as well, I'm not sure that stays around as it is now.

Problem is, their base is pulling them way far left (like avowed socialist far left) and they are blind to the fact that the majority of the country is not going to embrace that and, God willing, never will.

now, the same thing must happen to the republicans...no more neocons or rinos...this nation has been given a chance to repent....it would be wise to do so

It took Obama a little less than eight years to piss off every day Americans enough to take down and entire political party. Talk about a lasting "legacy".

yup that's the basis of my thoughts

the question is can they curtail this expansion? will BLM or the super proggy feminazis accept being put on the back burner? hell the DEMs almost had a revolt with Bernie, can they afford to possibly disrupt and offend the economic progs and the social progs? they've kind of sold their soul after the 2010 midterms when they lost a lot of moderate DEMs and decided to give up on those candidates and go the other direction to extreme progressivism

the party can go back but will the progressives accept it? they've tasted power and influence and their entire identity is based in feeling marginalized. will the DEM national party now marginalize them? do they really think that this will work? or is the plantation ideology and "win at all costs" enough to keep them all in the fold?

I was honestly surprised when Hillary ran because I thought the Dem leadership would say you had your chance, this is not your party anymore. But, they were too scared to stand up to the Clintons, I guess. All of that young, cool Obama swag got flushed down the toilet for an old, corrupt establishment politician.
