USAA Visa Card--Opinions? Any Concerns With Security?

Just signed up for a USAA Preferred Cash Rewards Signature card as I've heard nothing but good things about them. The wife's car loan is through them and we're going to get quotes on Homeowners and Auto insurance when they come due.
The card offers 1.5% unlimited cash back on every purchase. No cap.
0% Apr for 15 months and then a rate of 12.15% after. Rate doesn't concern me too much as I almost always pay balance in full every month.
No Annual fee. No foreign transaction fees(a real plus for me)
Free credit score every month.
My current credit card is the Chase Freedom and I feel like the USAA card is better.
Well I decided to Google USAA cc reviews after I'd been approved and the reviews are horrible. Most are about the high rate of fraud that USAA allows. One person said several suspicious transactions went through to a total of $8000 and USAA allowed it and now is being a pain in investigating it.
Someone else said someone called USAA claiming to be her and they reset the pin without asking any questions etc.
This stuff concerns me as I'm very vigilant about fraud. I bought $200 worth of amex gift cards yesterday and my Chase Visa wouldn't allow the charge to go through until I confirmed it was legit.
Now I'm second-guessing this USAA credit card and wondering if I should cancel it. Will this hurt my credit score? I'm assuming yes in the short term.
Anyone have a USAA Visa and can comment?

I have a USAA VISA Debit Card and USAA American Express.
No issues whatsoever. And they've always been very pleasant but more importantly, responsive whenever I have had a question or issue.

I have USAA Cash Back Visa. Never had a problem. My credit card # has been stolen twice (Home Depot and a local resturant) with about 5000 in charges each time. USAA took care of it with no problems.

my wife has the no-rewards visa. low rate of 8.99% I believe but she does carry a small balance most months. We have had no issues with it. AS others said USAA is very pleasant to work with.

Have USAA Visa cards (along with checking, insurance, etc) and have never had issue dealing with them. I had a fraud case recently and they handled it immediately.

I have had this card through USAA since 91 and have never had an issue with it that was the bank's fault. But I could not have asked for better customer service from them since then when issues occur.
They were late to embrace chip technology and perhaps that has something to do with the online reviews. My chipped card came in about a year ago after many other card providers were already issuing them.
Yes, my card number has been used fraudulently over the years. But each and every time it was USAA that contacted me to report questionable transactions that occurred that day. I was always pleased they did this even when it was me making a valid transaction. Their current technology generates a text message to me. I simply need to reply with a Y or N to indicate whether or not it was a valid transaction. It has happened maybe once per year on the average, though not once since embracing chipped cards.

Consider also that USAA card holders are going to be spread across the world, and due to utilizing their cards across the globe, more susceptible to fraud. Thus more reviews voicing concern.
Went on a TDY to Korea, fraudulent charges appeared after that trip, USAA took care of it.

I have a USAA Visa as well and my experiences with them have mirrored most of what has been said in the thread. I have received a text from USAA when there were some questionable charges made on my account, and I usually have to confirm large purchases. As you said about the customer service, it really doesn't get much better.

I had a fraud charge on my USAA Amex for about $500. They contacted me via text, I said the charge was fraudulent, contacted customer service and everything was handled quickly and easily. USAA is an amazing company and I have only the best to say about them.

Have USAA banking, Auto & Home Insurance. USAA has always been fantastic in everything I've dealt with and is one of the only companies that truly takes customer service seriously.

Well I decided to Google USAA cc reviews
Surely you also googled the bank and found that USAA is consistently rated #1 in customer satisfaction for those that are able to secure membership as well. I would not put much stock in an anonymous google review...
