Just finished voting. Polling place had a posted time limit for voting. Is this legal?

3 mins in Louisiana is what I heard on the radio this morning from the local clerk of court.

If it takes you the whole 3 minutes to vote, you probably shouldn't be voting.

I mean, there's probably no official time limit, but they also don't want people coming inside and camping out and clogging up the system.

Yo could get 100 people to get into the ballot box area and refuse to vote and shut down the whole place otherwise.

With long lines and people waiting to vote, 3 minutes is fair. It really shouldn't take that long. I voted paper ballot today and took less than 3 minutes.

Without a time limit, what's to prevent a fillibuster if you can get enough people together from party A in a polling location that's composed of primarily party B?

No. you should call the voter fraud hotline.

I'm glad we have this board so all of these illegal things can be reported

I'm new to St. Tammany, wasn't ready for the last bit. Was trying to read it and my time ran out.

Yes, it's legal.

The purpose is to prevent a few supporters of a candidate from effectively blockading a voting machine preventing others from voting.

The time limit is always wayyyyyy in excess of what it takes a normal person to vote. It took me a grand total of 30 seconds to actually vote once I got behind the curtain today.

The 3 minute rule was posted at our place and I had to use most of it because I couldn't read. My contacts are long distance for driving a car and playing golf...no good for reading up close. So, I had to back away from the names pushing the curtain back as far as I could without standing outside the booth in order to read. I'm sure the monitors didn't know WTF I was doing.

Why wouldn't it be?

And how can anyone take more than 30 seconds to vote? If you didn't read the proposals on the ballot before stepping in the both then (1) frick you and (2) don't vote on those proposals.
